Chart

Braintree Top 40

"No Brainer" spends a 2nd week at #1 as "Seeing Blind" tumbles all the way down to #17 following Celina's breakup with Niall Horan.  Jess Glynne continues to stay in the top 4 as "I'll Be There" spends another week at #2.  5 Seconds of Summer get their biggest hit to date as "Youngblood" jumps 10 spots to #5.  RIght beneath them at #6 is another Australian artist, Dean Lewis, with "Be Alright".  Speaking of Australia, Conrad Sewell rounds out the Down Under triumverate as "Healing Hands" reaches a new peak just outside the top 10 at #11.

In anticipation of the release of Ariana Grande's new album, sweetener, next week, "God is a woman" finds a new peak of #14.  She also re-enters on Troye Sivan's song, "Dance to This" at a new peak of #29.  Let's hope her new album is better reveived than her friend Nicki Minaj's was this week.  Poor Nicki only got one chart entry from her new album this week and it was "Barbie Dreams" at #40.  Clearly there were no hits on par with "Starships" or "Truffle Butter" this album.  Other notable debuts were "Valerie" by Mark Ronson & Amy WInehouse, thanks to Josh and Breagh as well as "Respect" by Aretha Franklin, thanks to Josh and trivia.  Unfortunately, the latter comes after the news of Franklin's death earlier today.

Emm!e and Daina both had music-less weeks as they sat in silence.  Catie listened to exactly four songs, so that added nothing, and once again, Sara is off in her own world.  Celina and Emily both stayed on the Braintree Top 40, so that's not really fun to report on either.  Only Breagh brought something new to the table as she continued to spin Vampire Weekend as well as Simon & Garfunkel.  "A-Punk" debuts at #27 while "Keep the Customer Satisfied" debuts right below at #28.

Next week is a BIG week for new releases!  We've got new singles from Jess Glynne, Calvin Harris & Sam Smith, Janet Jackson, Christine & the Queens, Amir, as well as the release of sweetener from Ariana Grande.  Any one of these releases could hit the top spot next week, so be prepared for massive shake-ups in the upper region of the chart, especially if Emm!e gets back in the gym after her illness.  Find out who will come out on top next week on the Braintree Top 40!
