Chart

20th July, 2018 - 26th July, 2018

Top albums of the week:

1) Post Malone - 'beerbongs & bentleys' (=)
2) Drake - 'Scorpion' (+1)
3) Jorja Smith - 'Lost & Found' (Re)
4) Bebe Rexha - 'Expectations' (Re)
5) Various Artists - 'Black Panther: The Album' (Re)

Tiësto, Dzeko and Preme all get their 1st ever #1s on my chart while Post Malone grabs his 4th in 12 weeks as 'Jackie Chan' ascends to the top. Hot on the heels of 'Better Now' becoming the song to have the longest climb to the top last week, 'Jackie Chan' is now the song to have the 2nd longest climb to the top as it reaches the top spot on its 10th week on the chart. This beats the previous record of 9 weeks held by Camila Cabello's 'Crying in the Club', but comes short of the new record of 12 weeks set by 'Better Now'. With 'Jackie Chan' knocking 'Better Now' off the top spot, Post Malone becomes only the 4th artist to ever knock themselves off the top; the only other artists to accomplish this are Anne-Marie, The Weeknd (who has done it twice) and Camila Cabello (who has done it 4 times). Post Malone also becomes only the 2nd artist to hold both #1 and #2 simultaneously for 3 weeks, 2nd only to Camila Cabello who holds the seemingly untouchable record of 9 weeks at both #1 and #2 simultaneously.

At #3 this week is the week's highest climber by a long shot; Ariana Grande's 'God is a woman' blasts up a huge 31 places on its 2nd week on the chart to give Ariana a new peak as a lead artist; she previously peaked at #4 with 'no tears left to cry'. She has, however, spent 2 weeks at #1 as a featured artist on Cashmere Cat's 'Quit'. As 'God is a woman' has such a huge climb this week, it's now the 4th largest climb ever on my charts; 3rd is a 32 place climb 36-4 from Drake's 'Passionfruit', 2nd is a 33 place climb 34-1 for Ed Sheeran's 'Bloodstream' and 1st is a 35 place climb 37-2 for Camila Cabello's 'She Loves Control'. #4 is the highest new entry of the week, and it comes from Troye Sivan with his cover of Post Malone's 'Better Now'. This is Troye's 1st Top 10 on my chart, and it's also the first time that both the original and cover versions of a song have charted simultaneously, let alone both of them being in the Top 4 simultaneously! At #9 Jorja Smith's 'Blue Lights' reaches a new peak, and at #10 Post Malone's 'Blame It On Me' re-enters the Top 10 for the first time in 9 weeks to spend a 5th week in the region.

Outside of the Top 10, Post Malone's 'Over Now' rebounds of 10 places to reach #16, coming close to its original peak of #10, while many of Post Malone's other songs take climbs as well. Drake's 'In My Feelings' re-enters at #23, reaching a new peak, after previously debuting at #31, while Post Malone's 'Candy Paint' and Jax Jones & Mabel's 'Ring Ring' re-enter at #35 and #37, respectively. Loud Luxury & brando also both see their first entries on my chart as 'Body' enters at #38.

In the "Post Malone Achievements Paragraph" this week his most notable achievements have already been covered; a 4th #1 in 12 weeks, knocking himself off the top and holding both #1 and #2 simultaneously. However, there is still more to talk about. Many of Post Malone's tracks climb up the chart yet again this week, and he holds 5 out of the Top 10 - a feat that has not been accomplished since Post himself held 7 out of the Top 10 12 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago, I talked about how 'beerbongs & bentleys' was the album with the most songs to spend 10 weeks on the chart, having 10 (at the time). This week, as 'Spoil My Night', 'Paranoid' and 'Jackie Chan' all reach 10 weeks on the chart, 'beerbongs & bentleys' extends its record to 12, and Post Malone himself has a total of 13. This is just 1 short of the current record held by Camila Cabello, who has 14 songs that have spent 10 or more weeks on the chart. Post also spends a 12th non-consecutive week atop the albums chart, and spends his 13th consecutive week with 10 or more songs on the chart, with 14 this week.

Thanks for reading everyone! :D

Hey Gameskiller! I'm impressed with your chart once again. :)
It's good to see that 'Jackie Chan' hit #1 as expected & that 'God Is A Woman' should get there next week!
I haven't heard 'Better Now' yet (is that a Post Malone cover or an original by Troye Sivan?), but I love that 'In My Feelings' & 'Candy Paint' re-entered, while 'Body' debuts! Does the latter have a chance to climb next week?
Talk to you more tomorrow or Sunday,

Hey Piran! 'Jackie Chan' very nearly wasn't #1 this week, as 'God is a woman' just kept on climbing throughout the week. If the chart week ran from Monday - Sunday instead I'm sure it would've overtaken it by the end of the week. I'm also pretty sure that 'God is a woman' will become my first multi-week #1 since 'FRIENDS' back in March. It's currently far, far, FAR ahead of anything else this week (125 streams compared to the 8 of 'Jackie Chan' at #2) and I'm not even getting tired of it at all!
As for Troye Sivan's 'Better Now', it is a cover of Post's song, but Troye puts his own unique spin on it and slows it down a bit, which I think works really well.
'In My Feelings' and 'Candy Paint' should be climbing next week, and 'Body' will definitely be climbing. It debuted low this week since I first heard it over halfway through the week, but on its first full week it should reach Top 30 at the very least, most likely higher. Thanks for the comment!
