Take That celebrates a fifth week at Number 1 with Back for Good. The British boy group now matches Céine Dion’s records for ‘Artist with the Most Weeks at Number 1’ and ‘Single with the Most Weeks at Number 1’. She also spent five weeks at the top with Think Twice. If Take That were to hold on to their position next week, they would become the full record holders.
Greek composer Vangelis continues to climb the charts. Conquest of Paradise peaks at Number 2, threatening Take That their chart-topper. The Spin Doctors and TLC also continue to peak with Two Princes and Red Light Special respectively.
R&B-group Brownstone enters the Top 10 with If You Love Me. This is their first Top 10-entry, entering at Number 10 exactly.
There are a few big gainers this week with the biggest being Dreamer by Livin’ Joy. The Italian Eurodance-act was last week’s highest debut and is the biggest climber of this week. The song increases eight places, peaking at Number 19.
The biggest dropper of the week is No More “I Love You”s by Annie Lennox. The single peaked at Number 3 and was certified Gold. The song was also the biggest dropper of last week and loses eight places this week.
Haddaway scores the highest debut of the week with Fly Away. The singer is currently charting with What Is Love? at Number 20. His newest entry begins its journey at Number 21.
Four singles are certified this week. Mr. Vain by Culture Beat is certified Gold, which peaked at Number 3. Funk It Up by Dutch rapper T.O.F. is also certified Gold, which peaked at Number 3. Rhythm of the Night by Italian Eurodance-act Corona is also certified Gold, which peaked at Number 12. The First The Last Eternity by Snap! and Summer is also certified Gold, which peaked at Number 2.
