"Wolves" leads the pack at #1 for a 6th week, Lizzo reaches top 3 & 5 re-entries.
For a 6th week, "Wolves" by Selena Gomez and Marshmello holds the chart crown. The song only has 3 more weeks to go until it becomes Gomez's longest chart reign of the year. Gomez has spent 27 weeks at the top spot, out of a possible 48. This is the songs 7th week on the chart and it looks like it will have a long future. There are two possible songs that could dethrone "Wolves" in the weeks to come: It could be Lizzo with "Good as Hell"; the song spends a 4th week on the chart and continues to ascend. It's been a steady climb for the song but it has now reached a new peak of #3. If "Good as Hell" continues to rise, it will not be long until it topples "Wolves. The other contender is one of this weeks new entries: "Never Be The Same" by Camila Cabello is the next single from her debut album, "Camila", and after just one day of release, it enters the chart at #12. After a full week, it's almost guaranteed "Never Be The Same" will rise and the chances of it reaching the top spot are high. "Never Be The Same" is Cabello's 8th chart entry.
Selena Gomez does not just have the victory of "Wolves" to celebrate this week, "Bad Liar" is this week's biggest climber, soaring 12 spaces back up to #2. "Bad Liar" seemed like it was finally starting to fade but in its 30th week, it's as hot as ever. "Bad Liar" joins just one other song in the '30 week' club, Gomez and Kygo's "It Ain't Me". "It Ain't Me" returns to the chart this week at #13- this is the song's 32nd week on the chart. With "Wolves", "Bad Liar", "It Ain't Me" and "Fetish", Gomez has had a cracking year and helped the likes of Marshmello, Kygo and Gucci Mane be part of megahits. Gomez has a 4th song on the chart this week: "Kill Em With Kindness" returns at #17. This marks the song's 6th non-continuous week on the chart this year.
Taylor Swift's chart domination may finally be starting to fade but she still has 5 songs on the chart this week. The highest of those is "Look What You Made Me Do" which leaps 6 places to #4. LMYMMD has now spent 15 weeks on the chart and does not seem to be leaving anytime soon. "Don't Blame Me" climbs 3 spots to #6, very close to reaching its previous peak of #5. "I Did Something Bad" falls 2 places to #9 and former chart champion, "This is Why We Can't Have NIce Things" falls a steeper-than-expected 5 spaces to #10. However, Swift's biggest faller this week is "End Game" featuring Ed Sheeran and Future which slides 7 places to #15.
Speaking of Ed Sheeran, he earns the title of 'highest debut' this week. "Perfect Duet" with Beyonce debuts at #11, just missing out on the top 10. The song does seem like it will have some staying power so the top 10 is not out of sight just yet for Ed and Queen B. Demi Lovato enters the highest out of any song with "Sorry Not Sorry" - as this is a re-entry it is unable to earn the 'highest debut' title. "Sorry Not Sorry" returns to #5 and has now spent 18 non-continuous weeks on the chart. The other re-entries on the chart include Camila Cabello with "Crying in the Club" at #19 (19 weeks) and "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber at #20 (8 weeks). This week's festive token comes in the form of Mariah Carey with "All I Want For Christmas Is You"- the song starts at #16.
"Thunder" by Imagine Dragons falls just one place to #7 during its 6th week but P!nk sees a slightly steeper drop of 5 places with "Beautiful Trauma" falling to #8. After re-enterting the chart last week, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj manage to stick around despite falling 2 places to #18 with "Swish Swish" (14 weeks). Finally, this week's biggest faller is Little Mix with "Is Your Love Enough?"; The song falls a mighty 12 places in just its second week of release. This isn't too surprising as the song's longetivity was brought into question last week and this week's chart seems to have confirmed those doubts.
