The New Elusive Charts: Week 10

  • This week's #1 is Lizzo's "Juice", which breaks the record for most charts it took to reach the top of the charts, beating Kesha's "Boots", which took 8 chart (however, "Juice" had a tougher and longer journey to the top of the charts). Lizzo's newly-released track, "Tempo", a Missy Elliott feature, also debuts inside the top 10, at #5, making it the singer's second top 10 entry on the chart.
  • Another older song shows up on the chart, Ariana's "break up with your girlfriend...", which reaches a new peak at #2. Although its odds of going #1 are, for now, unclear, it stood a great chance up until the middle of the week. The singer also manages to have (once again) two songs inside the top 5, an impressive feature, as "in my head" goes #4 this week. Officially, "thank u, next" has a total of 8 songs to reach the top 10, something nobody has achieved on the chart.
  • Meanwhile, Carly Rae Jepsen's #1 hit, "Now That I Found You", is now falling to #3 even though it reached the top on the mid-week update; the singer's other charting song, "No Drug Like Me", is also falling free, at #14, dropping for the first time out of the top 10 ever since its debut on the chart.
  • Among the new entries, two of them are in the top 10: Alice Chater's "Thief", which marks the singer's highest entry at #6, and Marina (former & The Diamonds), whose "Orange Trees" enters the chart at #7, making it her second top 10 entry. Speaking of new entries, last week's third highest debut, Dorian Electra's "Man To Man" holds on strong, at #8, and might even make a top 5 return by next week.
  • Mariah Carey earns a career high this week, as "A No No" barely goes #9 and reaches a new peak, following a 3-week rise. Sigrid falls hard from the top spot, as "Basic" reaches the very bottom of the top 10, all of this while her other entries ("Never Mine", "Sight of You", "Mine Right Now", "Strangers") fall the same. However, Slayyyter's "Mine" finds itself rising to #12, reaching a new high for the artist.
  • For significative drops: after many attempts at entering the top 10, "Who Do You Love" by The Chainsmokers and 5SOS falls miserably to #13; Jessie Ware's "Adore You" drops to #15 and Ariana Grande's "ghostin" is now at #20.
  • For significative rises: Nina Nesbitt, Sabrina Carpenter and Rina Sawayama achieve a new all time high on the chart this week ("Colder" goes #16, "Pushing 20" goes #17, "Cherry (Piano)" goes #28). Billie Eilish "bury a friend" rises back inside the top 30 (#25) and so does Lana Del Rey's "hope is a dngerous thing..." (#30), but Marina's "Superstar" remains steady in it (#26).
