The Biggest Songs Of The Week

After her untimely death earlier this week, Irene Cara grabs her first number 1 on my chart with her hit single “Flashdance..What a Feeling”. She also enters at no.9 with “fame”. She is the 3rd posthumous artist this year alone to achieve a high chart position on my chart following both Meat Loaf (no.1) and Olivia Newton John (No.3) earlier this year.

Taylor Swift drops to number 2 with “Anti-Hero” after spending 5 weeks at no.1. Her album “midnights” holds at no.2 behind Dermot Kennedy who gains a 2nd week at the top.

Longest chart runners:

  1. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (26 consecutive weeks)
  2. Dermot Kennedy – Better days (23 non consecutive weeks)
  3. Dermot Kennedy – Something to Someone (20 non consecutive weeks)
  4. Sam Fender – Getting Started (20 non consecutive weeks)
  5. First Aid Kit – Out of my head (16 consecutive weeks)

Next week, look out for new single releases from Lewis Capaldi, Noah Cyrus, Snakehips & Latto.

There is also a new album release from Olly Murs & Noah Cyrus releases a deluxe version of “The Hardest Part” after reaching my top 5 earlier this year.

Hi Zack!
Nice to see the Irene Cara debuts, especially "Flashdance" at #1. RIP Irene Cara.
I also like the big gains for "Calm Down" and "Getting Started", the debut for "This Is What I Mean" and the returns for "Lionheart", "Cuff It" and "Made You Look".
Great chart!

Hie buddy sad news for the artist i didn't know her unfortunately not even a slight idea.  Glad she could make it atop you  must have had great respect for her and her music. Anti hero still contending to return atop interesting to see. Dermot must be doing well for you i love seeing that he's a great artist he was the most streamed album and for me too .still a couple of songs from Taylor swift 6th week in a row an achievement. Shirt stil in the top 5 that's amazing album is on the way I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow lol . Honestly i had no idea that Raye dropped a song I'm I'm lately occupied and. But happy to see the song in your top 10 seems to be doing well for an independent artist its a huge impact she could make sales from that single .Unholy still in the top 20 it's a banger the producer Ian who was involved in Normani Motivation did the production of Unholy did youknow?? Dermot Kennedy tracks still in the chart.  Wonder how your end year chart will look like .like seeing the REENTRY of Ashanti that hits hard on my playlist lol. I'm Good hanging on steady at 30 .i was impressed with the performance of mtv ema awards.

Hye mate. I mainly know 2 songs from Irene Cara, who was of latino background but raised in America. You must have heard of "what a feeling" as its a famous song. Yes, "Anti-Hero" and "Kiss me" will both be contending for the top spot. I'll wait and see if anything drops from SZA. Yeah that Raye song is amazing, its been in my top 10 for a while and already peaked at no.2 before it became big on tik tok, love the lyrics. No, had no idea of the same producer for "Unholy" and "motivation". Yes, the Ashanti song is great, again liking the simple lyrics and old style rnb. Didnt have a chance to see the MTV awards performances.
