Chart breakers:

It was big fight for number 1 this week but the Weeknd continues to reign at the top of the charts but only just! Sam Fender almost came close with the brilliant 'Hypersonic Missiles'. Demi Lovato only released her song mid week but almost had a late challenge to get to number 1 with her impressive return with 'anyone'. Had it been released at the start of the week, it may just have reached the top!

Next week sees some massive contenders for the chart trying to knock off the Weeknd...

First there is Dua Lipa with 'physical'. In my opinion, it is a massive tune, with a great 80s vibe and love the instrumental. Her last song 'don't start now' missed out on a number 1 on my chart, and in my opinion her second official release is way better!

However, she will have big competition from Taylor Swift. Releasing a new song from her Netflix documentary, comes 'Only the Young' which has a great chance of going straight to the top!

Demi Lovato only released 'Anyone' mid last week and it starts off as the front runner but has the song got the staying power to hold off Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and the Weeknd?

Justin Bieber released his new song mid last week but may struggle to enter the chart unless it gains momentum. Other possible songs looking to enter include Fleur East, Grace Davies, Madison Beer and Elley Duhe with another release (currently sitting strong in top 20 for 3 weeks straight with the incredibly catchy 'middle of the night'). Kesha and Meghan Trainor release new albums of which new songs could possibly chart next week

Hey Zack! :)
I see the Grammys had a reasonable effect on your chart this week.
Firstly, I adore that we have mutual #1's with 'Blinding Lights', but I also love 'Anyone' & 'Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince' debuting in the Top 10, along with 'Everything I Wanted' re-entering the region!
The new peak for 'The Borders' & the debut for 'First Man' are also two other parts of this chart I really like a lot.
I'm really looking forward to next week, especially with 'Physical' set to be a very high new entry!

Hi Piran. Yes, the grammy's did have a big effect, and it will linger on to this week. When Taylor released a trailer for her documentary Miss Americana, I initially thought it was a trailer video for Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince...but it wasn't to be. Nevertheless, the song is one of my faves of her album so it had to enter the chart. 'Borders' is trying to enter in the top 10 but may be difficult with all the big songs entering this week. I did say it would be a 4 horse race for the top spot, but 1 out of the 4 songs is really growing on me and racing in to the lead and will easily be number 1 by the end of the week . All I can say is that The Weeknd will be knocked off the top. Ironic, considering it looks like it may just get the official UK number 1 this week after its 10th week on the chart!

Hey Zack, I see that The Weeknd is absolutely victorious on your chart! I especially love Taylor Swift's new entry, Billie Eilish's re-entry and Hayley Williams' amazing new entry! And I can't wait to see whether you'll have a high new entry for Dua Lipa, hoping she will take the top spot finally!

Hi Menelaus, good to hear from you. All I can say is that Dua Lipa is battling for the top spot this week. All revealed on Friday. I love the video for 'Physical'! I reckon she will get to number 1 on yours

Hi Zack!
Great chart once again, even though "Blinding Lights" lost the top spot to "Physical" in my chart, it's still a great song and nice to see it at #1 in your chart.
The debuts for "Anyone" and "Simmer" are great too.
Next week's Chart contenders look to be great, of course my favourite is "Physical", but let's see how next week will be in your chart.

Hi Sergej, thanks for your comment. Well my new chart is just out now so you can see if the Weeknd held on, or if Dua Lipa was successful. Either way, i love the 80s vibes on both songs. 80s music is so nostalgic! Anyone charted high as Demi had a great performance at the grammy's, in fact the song has also been battling for the top spot this week. Will be checking out your chart too...
