Rebecca Black's Friday remix skyrockets up chart but is blocked from top spot by Paula Abdul

In a very hectic 514 chart week Paula Abdul makes her way to (#1) with ‘Forever Your Girl’ becoming her first chart topping single and the fifth #1 of 2021. Rebecca Black is right behind her with the ‘Friday (Remix)’ shooting up to (#2) off it’s debut last week from (#31) featuring 30H!3, Big Freedia, and Dorian Electra, other gains this week include Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘drivers license’ rebounding up to (#4) and Saweetie and Doja Cat as ‘Best Friend’ also rises up to (#9) off it’s losses last week. Paula Abdul also had ‘Vibeology’, ‘Rush Rush’ and ‘Opposites Attract’ picking up to (#3), (#7) and (#10) accompanied with her also having the top debut this week as ‘Blowing Kisses in the Wind’ enters this week at (#6). Other gains outside of the top ten include ‘U Don’t Know Me Like U Used To’ by Brandy rising to (#14) off the debut and maybe ‘Angel In Disguise’ picking up a few spots to (#21) also ‘Body’ by Megan Thee Stallion rose to (#11) but that’s it.

Losses this week included ‘It’s Okay To Cry’ by SOPHIE falling down to (#20) off the posthumous #1 last week and ‘Is It Cold In The Water’ at (#24). ‘34+35’ fell down (#19) by Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion (now credited as the remix*) and ‘Escapade’ by Janet Jackson down to (#27). Big losers this week was Kelela as ‘LMK’ fell hard to (#33), ‘Voice’ by LOONA tanking to (#26) and even Paula Abdul as ‘The Way That You Love Me’ fell to (#18). In terms of new entries and reentries to the chart (this week having seventeen of them in total) Wolf Alice earns their first 514 entry as ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’ enters the chart at (#12) and Christian Leave earns 4 new entries the highest charting being ‘Your Life Your Time’ debuting at (#15). CHUNG HA earns two new entries this week as ‘Bicycle’ and ‘SIDE C (UNKNOWN) appears at (#25) and (#30) alongside Janet Jackson with ‘Any Time, Any Place’ at (#30) and ‘Throb’ at (#34).

Other songs entering once again is ‘Don’t Stop’ by Megan Thee Stallion and Young Thug once again entering at (#31), ‘Put Your Records On’ by Corinne Bailey Rae at (#40). Following the gains of other songs this week Paula Abdul’s ‘Straight Up’ is back at (#20) and Rebecca Black’s ‘Girlfriend’ debuts at (#38) and Christian Leave’s ‘Bedache’ reenters reaching a new peak at (#16).
