Ben's Chart - 2019-07-13

Beautiful People becomes the second longest running #1 of all time, now tallying two weeks at the top of the chart.

[Chart Highlights]

Beautiful People also climbs up to #12 on our songs of the summer list. If #1 again, it could see a huge leap in to the top 5 on that list, contending for the top spot. There's still two weeks until the race is over, however it's probably not going to make it to the top of that list. Higher Love rockets 15 places up to #2, it's the first entry for both Kygo & Whitney Houston in to the Top 10. Calma (Remix) falls a place to #3. It's the first time it's placed at this position. Aute Cuture also falls a place to #4, which echos in La Meme, also falling a place to #5.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Goodbyes from Post Malone enters at #7. Boom Bye Bye also climbs back in to the Top 10 after falling down to positions such as #18 & #34.

Outside the Top 10, Tell Them & Life Round Here both climb and re-peak at #13 & #14 respectively. This is the third time that both tracks are re-peaking. La Cintura & F9mily (You & Me) both climb in to the Top 20 for the first time, and ZEZE re-peaks at 20. BLOW from Ed Sheeran enters at 30, and James Blake' Mile High re-enters at #37. Ava Max' second single So Am I re-enters at 39.

  • This week, there are two new entries and two re-entries.
  • Lil Nas X has the most songs on the chart out of all artists, with 6.
  • Beautiful People becomes the second longest running number one, with 2 weeks at the top.
  • Goodbyes is this weeks highest debut

[Song of The Summer]

It's not long until the song of the summer is announced. There's two more chart weeks before it's all finalized. The current leader is Calma (Remix), though there's still plenty of time for change.

Hey Ben! :)
I really like 'Beautiful People' at #1 this week, since it's one of the better 'No.6 Collaborations Project' singles in my opinion.
What's even better is the massive jump for 'Higher Love' into second; Kygo is one of my favourite DJs & Whitney's obviously a legend, so there was no doubt I was going to love it too!
The return of 'So Am I' is also cool to see, but beyond that, I just love the amount of diversity there is in this week's chart.
By the way, I see you have a French song inside the Top 5, which caught my interest since I'm actually going to France for five days at the end of this month (so some French music could be entering my own chart before too long!).
Speaking of which, I just put up a new weekly chart if you want to check that out.
See you soon!

Hi Piran! Sorry for the radio silence on my end, had a very busy past couple of weeks on the move but I'm now back. I'll check out all your charts and OCC comments in a few! Beautiful People really caught my attention - loved both artists for years, it was always going to be a hit. Higher Love is amazing, never really had the chance to listen to Whitney's music to a full length but I have always enjoyed Kygo's music. I hope you have a nice time in France!
