Chart Revamp

In short, this chart is calculated way differently to how it previously was, leaving gaps for new and longer number ones, a more accurate reading in to what I listen to and less-biased chart movements. The previous methods consisted of a points chart, which originally peaked at 500 maximum, but then expanded to peaks such as 1200, which is way too much creating unrealistically dominant number ones. In this new methodology, those dominant number ones are only legit.

The chart is also now compiled on a Tuesday and released on a Saturday, now providing more reliable insights in to the songs I like from the recent New Music Friday.

Chart Highlights

In this week's chart, we have a brand new number one single. How Do You Sleep? from Sam Smith leads the chart for the first time as it debuts in to the top spot. It ends the reign of Beautiful People.

Calma (Remix) climbs up three to #2. It previously peaked at the top spot for three weeks, which is now tied by Beautiful People, which is positioned at #3. Entering brand new at #6 is Way To Break My Heart from Ed Sheeran. Production value is high on that song, but wasn't necessarily appreciated by myself last week. Ladbroke Grove and Que Pretendes both launch in to the Top 10 at #8 and #10 respectively.
