Braintree Top 40

Jonas Brothers earn their 2nd #1 with "What a Man Gotta Do" as Josef Salvat's "in the afternoon" soars to #2 and Halsey slips to #6. Emily, Tanya, and Victoria all had "What a Man Gotta Do" on repeat this week as the song beats out the #2 song by almost double. Emily also gives "Bikini Porn" a new peak of #4 in its 2nd week. Alexandra brings Phoria to the chart for the first time as "evolve" debuts at #5.

Dua Lipa has a resurgence to #7 as anticipation for her upcming album, Future Nostalgia, reaches a (disco) fever pitch with Josh and Breagh. Speaking of disco, Ava Max gets her 2nd #1 with her latest disco-inspired tune, "Salt" at #9. The 1975 earn their 4th top ten with "Me & You Together Song" at #10, climbing 25 spots to be the biggest gainer of the week.

What seemed to be a sure-#1 in the beginning of the week ended up stalling out just outside the top as "Godzilla" by Eminem & Juice WRLD debut at #12, thanks to Josh and Daina. It looks as though the bad press from his tasteless lyrics about the Manchester bombing at Ariana Grande's concert on another track on the new album did damage to Eminem's reputation in Braintree. Emily gives one of her faves a good debut as Lauv appears at #13 with "Tattoos Together" while Tanya gives Halsey another chart entry with "Still Learning at #14. Catie listened to nothing but "Elastic" by Joey Purp this week and it shows as the song debuts at #15.

"Yummy" continues its descent as it tumbles 4 more spots to #17. It stays in the top 20 solely on the back of Tanya, who continues to play the garbage single for some reason. While Alexandra vowed to bring Agnes Obel's album to the forefront of the chart this week, things didn't quite pan out for her as "Broken Sleep" sinks to #24, dropping 12 spots.

Next week, we see new releases from Hayley Williams, Calvin Harris, Kelsea Ballerini, Kygo, Avicii & Sandro Cavazzo, as well as La Roux and All Time Low. None of them seem very powerful chartswise, so will Jonas Brothers earn their 2nd week at #1 or can Josef Salvat sneak a week at the top? Will Eminem rebound from the bad publicity and get "Godzilla" into the top ten? That all depends on if Daina puts it into power rotation.
