Braintree Top 40

We have a new #1 this week as Aly & AJ's comeback single, "Take Me," dethrones "...Ready For It?" after two weeks at the top.  Kesha proves to be a powerhouse on the Braintree Top 40 yet again as her latest single with Macklemore, "Good Old Days," debuts at #3 as well as keeping her streak of Most Entries of the Week alive with 5.  Kesha also earns another Gold single as "Praying" passes 50 plays and sits at #13.  "New Rules" also goes Gold with plays coming from Josh, Daina, & Emily this week to sneak back into the top 5.

"Bad Liar" seems to have nine lives as it yet again posts a bullet at #12.  Both Emily & Daina have contributed to the longevity of this Selena Gomez masterpiece.  Emily also propelled "IDGAF" to its new peak of #16.  Could this be the next single by Dua Lipa?  We'll see!

"Boots" earns this week's Biggest Increase while "Malibu" unfortunately gets Biggest Decrease.  Looks like summer truly is over as Miley Cyrus's sunny ode to her lover tumbles down the chart.  "Feel It Still" gets Highest Re-Entry as gained renewed visibility at trivia last Thursday.  It's incredible what can get stuck in your head after just 30 seconds on a car radio.

Aside from "Good Old Days," there were 7 other debuts this week.  Tove Styrke earns her 2nd hit with the Braintree group as "Mistakes" continues her success after "Say My Name" this spring.  Speaking of spring favorites, Betty Who's "Human Touch" debuts at #39.  Had the Braintree Top 40 been around earlier this year, this would have been a surefire #1.  Johnny Stimson's "Honeymoon" explodes onto the scene at #24 while Craig David continues his legacy as the perennial British hitmaker with "Heartline" at #25.  La Roux makes a surprise appearance with a 3 year old song, Sexotheque."  Zedd & Liam Payne finally debut at #37 after their video for "Get Low" premiered on Wednesday.  AyokAy rounds out the debuts at #40 with "The Shine," with all its plays coming solely from Emily.

Celina's main contributions came in the form of Fifth Harmony's "Down" and Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm," coming in at #28 and #38 respectively.  Yet again, Daina keeps Kesha alive as she puts up numbers for nearly all the current charting Kesha songs.  Emm!e keeps "Havana" steady at #7 but couldn't get "Friends to stop descending as it tumbles to #19.

Next week looks to be another debut-filled week as new singles from Demi Lovato, Yelle, & WALK THE MOON attempt to make lofty entries.  Can "Take Me" keep the top spot or will Macklemore & Kesha gain traction with Daina to push it over the edge?  Find out next week!
