Braintree Top 40

It was a wild week as Kina Grannis seemingly had the top spot all sewn up, thanks to Celina and her renewed obsession with the Crazy Rich Asians wedding singer. Not even Braintree darling, Troye Sivan, and his new album release, Bloom, could stop her. That is, until the Queen of Braintree released her new song a day early. That's right, Dua Lipa's new song, "Electricity" with Silk City (Mark Ronson & Diplo) has debuted at #1 after just 24 hours of release! This is Dua Lipa's 4th #1, the most ever in the chart's history. Previous #1, "All I Am," fades to the background at #4.

While Troye SIvan didn't nab the #1 this week, he still got two songs in the top ten with "Lucky Strike" and "Dance to This" with Ariana Grande at #3 and #6, respectively. He also debust at #30 with "Postcard" featuring Godi as well as returning to the chart with previous #1s "My My My!" and "Bloom" at #38 and #39, respectively. Elsewhere in the top ten, 5 Seconds of Summer racks up a third top ten as "Lie to Me" jumps up to #8 while "Rise" rises to a new peak of #9.

Daina listened to absolutely nothing while Emm!e, Catie, and Sara listened to songs that didn't match with the rest of the chart. Aside from Kina Grannis, Celina stuck to the Braintree Top 40 while Emily brought her favorite Spaniard all the way up to #16 with "Ella". She is also the sole listener of "Masterpiece" at #19. Breagh had a big week as she helped secure the #1 for "Electricity" as well as bringing "New Rules" back at #29. She also brought back Vampire Weekend and gave "Respect" a new peak of #35.

Next week, we'll see the continued success of "Electricity" as well as the release of a new Dua Lipa song, "Want To". Could she become only the 2nd artist to replace themselves at #1 after Kesha did so last year with "Good Old Days" with Macklemore and "Praying"? We also see new releases from AlunaGeorge, Steve Aoki & Kiiara, and a crazy collab with Nile Rodgers, Chic, Craig David, and Stefflon Don. MNEK's debut album is also released.
