Chart

Braintree Top 40

Two weeks after first claiming the top spot, Aly & AJ have returned to #1 with their autumnal jam, “Take Me.”  It looks like their 10 year hiatus did little to curb their popularity in Braintree as they received support from Josh, Emm!e, and Emily this week.

Highest debut of the week goes to “How Long” at #21, Charlie Puth’s second single of his upcoming album, Voicenotes, due out January 18th.

Emily’s influence can be seen all over this week’s chart as she provides a healthy boost to Dua Lipa’s discography and giving her another top 5 single with “IDGAF” as well as debuting “Dreams” onto the Braintree Top 40.  She once again keeps “Down” by Fifth Harmony afloat as the girls chart at #31.

It looks like Emm!e has awoken from her slumber as she aids four songs this week!  Her contributions helped “Take Me” return to the summit as well as giving “All Night,” and “Damage” new peaks on the chart at #9 and #11 respectively.  She could not overturn the decline of "Bat at Love" however, as Halsey's seocnd single off of hopeless fountain kingdom falls to #17

Unfortunately, Daina’s taste was just too different this week as her top songs from the Moana and Elena of Avalor soundtracks garnered no additional support from any of the other contributors.

Celina’s main impact this week was successfully pushing another Ed Sheeran song onto the chart with “Shape of You,” which debuts at #39.  This follows “Castle on the Hill,” which peaked at #36 just two weeks earlier.

It pays to do promo, as evidenced by the re-entry of “Strip That Down” at #33 after Liam Payne’s appearance on TRL this Wednesday as well as Madonna’s “Borderline” debuting at #36 after being used throughout the new Will & Grace episode this week.  Some things just can't be explained, like Janet Jackson's "If" appearing at #40.  Perhaps Josh is just sexually frustrated and his subconscious chose the erotic 1993 jam to ease some tension.  Whatever the reason, "If" has made a surprise appearance on the Braintree Top 40.

Next week sees the release of P!nk's new album, Beautiful Trauma, along with new singles from Daya, Louis Tomlinson, Fickle Friends, and Cheat Codes.  Can they all make the chart?  If so, who'll be leaving?  Find out next week!
