Chart

Braintree Top 40

After debuting at #2 last week, Sigrid has achieved her first #1 with "Don't Feel Like Crying".  She replaces last week's surprise #1, "1950," which tumbles down to #17, the biggest drop from #1 since "HIgh Hopes" fell to #23 back in October.  Ariana Grande almost nets her 4th #1 as "7 rings" debuts at #2.  Australian gay indie-pop group Cub Sport earns a top ten out of nowhere with their smash hit, "Party Pill," jumping to #3 from #27 last week.  #4 is occupied by no strangers to the chart.  With just 24 hours of availability, Lauv & Troye Sivan hit the top 5 again with "i'm so tired...".

Elsewhere in the top ten, Sam Smith and Normani both get their 2nd top tens with "Dancing With a Stranger".  Just outside the top ten, Sara gets Jessica Pratt to debut at #12 with "Bushel Hyde".  This is probably Sara's highest influence ever, so congrats!  It's also her only influence this week.  Just above Jessica however, is Dean Lewis's follow-up to the smash "Be Alright," which hit #3 last summer.  "7 Minutes" just misses the top ten at #11.  Catie brings Travis $cott onto the chart with "SICKO MODE" which debuts at #14.

With Celina is in New Zealand partying with the likes of Lorde and Broods, she has little time to influence the chart (although she did give a little boost to "7 rings" and "Talk Fast").  Daina traveled back to high school with a playlist filled with All-American Rejects, My Chemical Romance, P!ATD, FOB and more mid 00s angst.  This is reflected in the lower end of the chart, as you can see.  Emily was living it up in Miami, so aside from giving a little boost to "Video," "7 Minutes," and "Don't Feel Like Crying," she didn't really influence much.  While Breagh couldn't get anything on the main chart, she did help two songs hit the Bubbling Under as Dua Lipa and Vampire Weekend, two of her favorite artists, make an appearance.  After the big debut Victoria had last week, she couldn't muster up the same enthusiasm this week.  Emm!e literally only listened to Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" once this week and that was it.  So yeah, nothing from her.

Next week will be a busy week as we see the full impact of new songs from Dua Lipa, Lauv & Troye Sivan, Vampire Weekend, Florence + the Machine, and Ritual & Tove Styrke.  We also have a new album from Terror Jr. and a new EP from Julia Michaels with a song featuring Selena Gomez that sounds like a collab Braintree would latch onto.  Could there be a surprise release on the horizon with all these songs mysteriously releasing on Thursday instead of the usual Friday?  We'll have to see!  Can Troye Sivan earn his 3rd #1 with his Lauv collab or will Sigrid continue to coach Josh through his dating woes?  FInd out next week on the Braintree Top 40!

Here is this week's Bubbling Under:

1. Alec Benjamin - Let Me Down Slowly

2. Dua Lipa - Swan Song

3. Vampire Weekend - Harmony Hall

4. Nicki Minaj with Anuel Aa - Familia (feat. Bantu)

5. Paramore - Misery Business
