Braintree Top 40

Shawn Mendes earns a 3rd week at #1, the longest reign since Lizzo's "Tempo" stayed at the top for 4 weeks a month ago.  Billie Eilish makes her move to #2, thanks to Celina, while Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift & Brendon Urie both stay put in the top 5 despite the middling reviews of their respective songs.  Can I still even say that now that each track has spent their lifetimes in the top 5?  Lizzo gets her 4th top ten in 3 months as "Truth Hurts" jumps to #6.  Celina pushes "Someone You Loved" back to #10, its first week in the top ten since January, when it hit its peak of #8.

We have two big debuts one right after the other as Halsey's "Nightmare" and 5 Seconds of Summer's "Easier" debut at #15 & 16, respectively.  EVen more impressive is that 5SOS did so with less than 24 hours in the tracking week.  Both have the opportunity to crack the top ten and possibly dethrone Shawn Mendes as they are each coming off of former #1s - Halsey with "Without Me" and 5SOS with "Youngblood".

You can tell Daina's been riddled with anxiety all week over watching Chernobyl when she fills a quarter of the chart with soothing guitar diddies.  Kathleen Parks earns 10 entries this week, which pushes Ariana Grande out of the Braintree Top 40 for the first time since November 1st, 2018!  Let's just take a moment to congratulate everything Ariana Grande's thank u, next album accomplished in Braintree.  It spawned 2 #1s as well as 2 additional top tens as well as changing Breagh's opinion on Ariana completely, turning her into a total Arianator.

Aside from the Kathleen Parks album bomb, there was also the return of Carly Rae Jepsen as "Now That I Found You" re-enters and re-peaks at #29 as well as debuting at #39 with "Want You in My Room".  There could have been plenty more where that came from without Katheen Parks, so we'll see if she can add more entries next week or if Daina's Chernobyl paranoia will continue.

Next week, we see the release of another Ed Sheeran song, this time with Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock.  We also see Jess Glynne collab with Jax Jones on a track called "One Touch," which sounds like it's attempting to be the new "One Kiss" based on title alone.  There is also the new BB Brunes song, "Habibi" and Sigala & Becky Hill "Wish You Well".  Can any of these dethrone the Canadian prince at the top or will "If I Can't Have You" grab a 4th week at #1?  FInd out next week on the Braintree Top 40!

Here is this week's Bubbling Under:

3. DJ Khaled - Higher (feat. Nipsey Hussle & John Legend)

4. DJ Khaled - Holy Ground (feat. Buju Banton)
