The first quarter of the year is complete, and its been a busy one! Big albums from Ava Max, RAYE, Lana, Mimi and P!nk to name a few, and in just 13 weeks there have been 11 #1s! The biggest song of the year so far is in fact one from October last year! Despite not getting any weeks at the top this year, Escapism. by RAYE & 070 Shake has been a mainstay in the top 10, and is still in the top 20 currently! Closely behind is Mimi Webb who claimed her first #1 single with Red Flags for 2 weeks in January, and it spent 9 weeks in the top 10! Ava Max is at #3 with Dancing's Done, it made #1 at the tail end of last year and went back for a week this year, and despite being only a promo single it ended up being the biggest release from Diamonds & Dancefloors! Taylor Swift had a big start (unsurprisingly), The Great War was the most stable of the Midnights hits, having a big boost at one stage! And Maisie Peters also kicked off her 2nd album era with new single Body Better which unsurprisingly got to #1. Its at #5 in this EOY!
RAYE got herself 2 further #1s from her debut album. Both of those are in the top 10, and Lana's major A&W is also here. Its the highest of quite a few from her, Lana was one artist to majorly benefit from rule changes that lifted the block on older songs from charting, and she has 7 songs in the top 50! The artist with most songs in the top 50 is RAYE with 8, all from her long coming debut album My 21st Century Blues.
