It's yet another great week for Post Malone as he logs his 2nd #1 on my charts with '92 Explorer'. As the songs hits #1 on its 8th week on the chart, that means that it is now in tied 2nd place for the longest climb to #1 alongside Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello's 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and Camila Cabello & Grey's 'Crown'. Worth noting is the fact that 'Crown' had 6 months between first charting and reaching #1, though it was only on the chart for 8 weeks during that time. The only song to have a longer climb to #1 is Camila Cabello's 'Crying In The Club', which reached #1 on its 9th week on the chart. Post Malone is also at #2 with 'Same Bitches', making him one of only 5 artists to hold both of the top spots simultaneously, with Camila Cabello, Anne-Marie, The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes.
Last week's #1 'Bloodstream' falls 2 places to #3, while 3 songs take climbs to reach new peaks inside the Top 10. The first of these songs is OneRepublic & Logic's 'Start Again', which climbs 2 places to #4 to become both OneRepublic & Logic's highest ever peak. Logic previously reached a peak of #5 on Sam Smith's 'Pray', while this is OneRepublic's only ever song to make an appearance on my charts. The next is Selana Gomez' 'Back to You', also from the '13 Reasons Why (Season 2)' soundtrack, which climbs 3 to #5. 'Start Again' and 'Back to You' mirror 'Pray For Me' and 'All the Stars' from 'Black Panther: The Album' this week, as both pairs of songs are a pair of singles from a soundtrack, and both pairs took the positions #4 and #5 simultaneously. The last new peak inside the Top 10 comes from Tiësto, Dzeko, Preme & Post Malone as 'Jackie Chan' climbs 4 to #6.
Post Malone also sees another new peak as 'Better Now' climbs 9 places (good for this week's highest climber) to enter the Top 10 for the first time at #7. 'Better Now' becomes Post's 8th Top 10, all of which have been in the region within the past 8 weeks. The highest new entry of the week comes from 5 Seconds of Summber with 'Youngblood', which enters at #10. This becomes both 5 Seconds of Summer's first chart appearance and their first Top 10. There are more new entries this week from Steel Banglez, MØ & Yxng Bane with 'Your Lovin'' at #15, Martin Garrix & Khalid with 'Ocean' at #19, Nicki Minaj & Ariana Grande with 'Bed' at #22, Rudimental, Major Lazer, Anne-Marie & Mr. Eazi with 'Let Me Live' at #27, Troye Sivan & Ariana Grande with 'Dance To This' at #32 and Kygo & Imagine Dragons with 'Born to Be Yours' at #37.
There's a lot to talk about in "The Post Malone Achievements Paragraph" this week, so we'll start with a quick recap of what I've already been over. Post Malone gets his 2nd #1 with '92 Explorer', which has the joint 2nd longest climb to #1 ever with 8 weeks, he gets a new peak of #6 with 'Jackie Chan' and a new entry to the Top 10 (his 8th Top 10) with 'Better Now', the week's highest climber as it rises 9 places to #7. Post also manages to chart 10 or more songs simultaneously for yet another week, his 8th consecutive, with 12 songs this week. 'Spoil My Night' makes a re-entry down at #40, as well.
Thanks for reading everyone! :D
