(The tracking period for this week's regular chart is from 12/12/2025 to 12/18/2025, while the one for the year-end chart is from 11/29/2024 to 11/27/2025.)
What's good, everybody? Welcome to the special year-end edition of Haziq's Hot 40! We've now reached the end of another year, and I must unfortunately admit that 2025 has been a boring, lackluster year for pop music - it felt like this year was the "crash" after the "high" that produced blockbuster, pop culture-defining megahits in 2024. On the other side, as music becomes more fragmented than ever, genres like indie, R&B, hip-hop, and EDM thrived. And now, as we close out the old year and get set for 2026, I will reveal "my version of 2025 wrapped": HH40's top 100 songs of 2025. This is in addition to HH40's current top 40 chart as displayed below. This year-end chart list comprises the 100 best-performing hits throughout the past 12 months on Haziq's Hot 40, based on the weekly charts of the same name that ranks my most-played songs every week. The chart's survey/tracking period for 2025 is from November 29, 2024 to November 27, 2025, which reflects the chart year beginning with HH40 chart for the week ending December 14, 2024 and ending with the one for December 6, 2025. The rankings are based on points received by each song, based on its weekly chart position during its chart run within the survey period only. The points, the peak position, and the number of weeks spent by a song outside of it will not be counted into this list and will not be revealed here. So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:

Throughout the course of the 2025 survey period, I've streamed more than 300 songs, with 192 making it into my top 40 list. Of all those, 22 songs climbed to #1. However, only ONE tune that's emerged victorious - a phenomenal anthem from the soundtrack of the megahit animated movie about three K-pop super ladies living their double lives as "demon hunters" to combat five other K-pop super boys who are demons, and to protect their fans from supernatural danger. I'm talking about KPop Demon Hunters, which was a massive success! From that movie came the number one song on HH40 for all of 2025: Golden, performed in the film by Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who formed the group called Huntrix (stylized as HUNTR/X). The singing voices of these three characters are provided by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, respectively. That song spent 10 consecutive weeks at #1, 18 weeks in the top 10, and 23 weeks in the top 40. That makes it enough to become HH40's top song of the year.
As for the Top Album of the Year, some huge albums came into my mind. Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl, Kendrick Lamar's GNX, or Sabrina Carpenter's Man's Best Friend, The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow, or Tyler, The Creator's DON'T TAP THE GLASS. But this one came on top instead: the soundtrack of KPop Demon Hunters. The album spawned 5 songs on my year-end list: HUNTR/X's Golden (#1), How It's Done (#79), and What It Sounds Like (#93), as well two songs by the demon boys aka the Saja Boys: Your Idol (#11) and Soda Pop (#35).
This round-up is not complete without mentioning my Top Artist of the Year. And it is, for the second year in a row... Sabrina Carpenter. The continued success from her 2024's mega project Short n' Sweet, as well as the release of it's (not-so-exciting) follow-up Man's Best Friend solidified her position as one of pop music's it girl at the moment.
Speaking of Sabrina, she has the number one song on HH40's current top 40 weekly chart for a second week with When Did You Get Hot? (#83 for the 2025 chart year). Plus, debuting on the weekly chart are songs from Charli xcx, Lily Allen, Idgitaf, PARTYOF2, and Sienna Spiro. Crashing into the top ten is Tyla's latest smash CHANEL (#7).
So there you have it - my personal top 100 songs of the past year based on a compilation of HH40 weekly charts. And below is the full list of my personal top 40 songs for this week - the last week of 2025. What will the new year have in store for us?
