Haziq's Hot 40 (December 31, 2022) + HH40's Top 100 Songs of 2022

(The tracking period for this week's regular chart is from 12/16/2022 to 12/22/2022, while the one for the year-end chart is from 11/26/2021 to 11/24/2022.)

Hi, and welcome to the special year-end issue of Haziq's Hot 40! Well, 2022 has been an incredible year for all of us, and so it is for music. And here we are, at the end of another great year. But before we say adios to it, I will reveal my personal year-end list: my top 100 songs of 2022. This is in addition to HH40's current top 40 chart as displayed below. About my year-end chart, it is the list of the 100 best-performing hits throughout the past 12 months on Haziq's Hot 40, based on the weekly charts of the same name that ranks my most-played songs every week. The chart's tracking period for 2022 is from November 26, 2021 to November 24, 2022, which reflects the chart year beginning with HH40 chart for the week ending December 11, 2021 and ending with the one for December 3, 2022. The rankings are based on points received by each song, based on its weekly chart position during its chart run in 2022 only. The points, the peak position, and the number of weeks spent by a song outside the chart year will not be counted into this list. So, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:

Harry Styles surely has got something to remember for all of his life, because he has the world's biggest song for all of 2022, which is also my personal Top Song of the Year! His megahit As It Was spent 7 giant weeks on top of Haziq's Hot 40, and stayed in the top 40 longer than any other song this past year - 34 weeks. 18 of those were in the top 10. Besides, his #1 album Harry's House, where the song was the lead single from it, was a massive success globally. I really enjoy the album so much that it has become my personal Top Album of the Year. Here, he has two other singles from it making HH40's year-end list: Late Night Talking (#20) and Music For a Sushi Restaurant (#47).

Even so, there is another artist that does much better on this chart: The Weeknd. Yes, that is the artist that takes the award for my personal Top Artist of the Year! During 2022, he scored five top 10 hits, with two of them (Sacrifice and Out of Time) being number ones and taken from his latest album, Dawn FM. Also, he is the artist with the most songs appearing on this year's top 100 list, with 6 songs (as both a solo act and a featured artist). They are, from the top to the bottom: Out of Time (#7), Die For You (#26), Sacrifice (#28), One Right Now (his collab with Post Malone, #39), Moth To A Flame (his collab with Swedish House Mafia, #55) and Is There Someone Else? (#73).

Meanwhile, on HH40's current top 40 survey, Tiesto and GloRilla roll into the chart with their latest hits. Not one song breaks into the top ten, and SZA ends the year at number one as Kill Bill gets a second week atop the chart.

Well, there you have 'em - my personal top 100 hits of the past year based on a compilation of HH40 weekly charts. And below is the full list of my personal top 40 songs for this week - the last week of 2022. It's been an amazing, exciting year, and I just can't wait to see what 2023 has in store for us. Until then, I'll see you in the new year on Haziq's Hot 40!
