James' Top 20 - June 5, 2014

2 debuts!

Notes:

  • Tove Lo rules for her 5th week with "Habits (Stay High)" (it will now be credited as that title due to its change on iTunes). The lead between Tove Lo and MAGIC! is getting closer and closer as MAGIC!'s "Rude" is increasing in plays more than "Habits (Stay High)". "Rude" could possibly take the top spot next week.
  • "Wiggle" by: Jason Derulo (feat. Snoop Dogg) redeems itself 6-3 to attain a new peak. It fell out of the Top 5 last week despite being in good position to take the #2 spot, so this is a good rebound for the song.
  • Seether continue their high advancements with "Words as Weapons" going 9-4. The song has had a 19-19-19-9-4 run, which is a little weird. This also has an opportunity to take the top spot in the very near future.
  • "Peace" by: O.A.R. & "Love Runs Out" by: OneRepublic move together yet again as both songs come into the Top 10, going 11-9 & 12-10 respectively. "Peace" may have an upperhand next week with O.A.R.'s The Rockville LP releasing on Tuesday. It's available for streaming on Pandora, which has helped songs like The Used's "Cry" and a few from Coldplay's album Ghost Stories (On the Rise only so far) achieve more success on the chart.
  • Nico & Vinz score the top debut with a #14 debut with "Am I Wrong". The song spent two distant weeks on the On the Rise chart before its debut. This could be a hit for Nico & Vinz as this has been increasing in plays by 10+ the past 2 weeks.
  • Luvbug (feat. Talay Riley) score the other debut at #16 with "Resonance". This is Talay Riley's first song to chart since his feature on Scorcher's "It's All Love", which hit #12 in 2012. Every song of Talay Riley's (with the exception of "It's All Love") have had major success on the chart. That one was the only one to miss the Top 10. He has had "Good as Gold" & "Fairytale" hit #1 for numerous weeks, "Make You Mine" hit #2, "Shut Up & Kiss Me" hit #5 and "Radiance" hit #10. He has also had numerous amounts of songs on the rise (approximately 16). If you live in the UK, I'd watch out for this song. This has been getting some airplay in the UK and has been called a possible song of the summer by quite a few UK Dance sites.
  • "Talk Dirty" & "Cry" both fall from the Top 20 this week. Both songs reached #3 on the chart not too far apart from each other. This week's two dropouts were all very close and it ultimately came down to play count where these two were the losers in. "Talk Dirty" didn't gain a single play, while "Cry" only got 1.
  • "Good as Gold" by: Talay Riley (feat. Scorcher) holds on for 1 more week. Its in for another week of danger with probably another debut coming next week.
