A #1 debut!

Notes:

  • OneRepublic goes all the way this week, as they debut at #1 this week with "Wherever I Go". A Top 3 was pretty inevitable before it was even released, but it still unshockingly went for the #1 debut. This debuts with 82 plays in its first week, good for second place in the record books (102 is the #1). This has a good shot at holding the top spot down for awhile, but it will have some big competition with "Mayday" (1-2), which itself is looking for more weeks at the top. Next week these two should distance themselves far from the competition.
  • 3OH!3 has a big week as expected, as "MAD AT YOU" enters the Top 3, going 6-3 for a new peak. Sadly, this looks like where it will peak with it bound to be eons away from #2 next week. There is some hope it can hold out in the #3 spot for a few more weeks and potentially get itself closer to the top, but nothing's for sure. 3OH!3 also debut two songs from NIGHT SPORTS as "INSIDE BOY" and "FREAK YOUR MIND" debut at #56 and #58 respectively. They also see the rest of the album on the Re-Entry Watch and On the Rise.
  • "LA Confidential" climbs into the Top 20 this week, going 22-20 for a new peak. This has definitely slowed down as of late and probably won't be going Top 10. It does have a decent shot at approaching it though.
  • Two longtime songs fall below the Top 20 and Top 30 this week, as "A Taste of Silver" drops 18-21 and "Never Stop" falls 30-32. They are both far from over and are both likely to go recurrent by falling below #51 instead of 3+ weeks of 5+ position drops. "A Taste of Silver" is going to aim for the triple digit mark and two year mark, while "Never Stop" likely won't hit the enormous 300 week mark.
  • Marc E. Bassy blasts into the Top 30, going 37-25 for a new peak. This should easily secure the Top 10 in likely 3 weeks, as this is blowing up fast. This is a big contender for #1, and probably the only song that can dethrone "Wherever I Go" or (potentially again) "Mayday". Nonetheless, this should be a huge summer track.
  • SafetySuit is looking to follow-up "Looking Up" (2-4) with "Pause", as that now enters the Top 30 by going 31-28 for a new peak. "Looking Up" is not done yet, but it doesn't look like it'll go back to #1 at this point in time. "Pause" could hit the Top 10, but that is unforeseen at the moment.
  • "My Mistake" enters the Top 30 as well, going 32-29 for a new peak. This has worked well as an album track, but it has moved up the past few weeks mainly due to songs above it dropping. This should get a peak in the mid-20s, but it should fall after that. Hopefully it could get a single re-release, then it could go #1.
  • tobyMac scores his fourth Top 30 hit from This Is Not A Test, as "Backseat Driver" moves 33-30 for a new peak. Toby should score a fifth in a week or two, as "Move (Keep Walkin')" (35-33) is also moving along swimmingly. It's not clear if they can hit the Top 20, but "Backseat Driver" should peak similarly to "Beyond Me"'s #22 peak, while "Move (Keep Walkin')" should find a peak a bit lower.
  • "Not Enough" climbs into the Top 60 this week, going 63-59 for a new peak. This has a pretty underwhelming debut, but it could be a slow riser unlike "101" and "Pink Cocaine" (14-19) were, which have both been pretty quick burners ("Pink Cocaine" is looking done now). This might take its sweet ass time to peak, and there is nothing wrong with that. Comparing this to "Pause", as SafetySuit is another huge charter with a underwhelming debut, is perfect since that is coming into its own now.
