Joseph's Hit 40

This week's highest climber comes from an undeniable classic, courtesy of Mariah Carey. All I Want For Christmas Is You charts for the fourth year running, and it has also achieved a new peak for the fourth year running too. The song is undoubtedly my favourite Christmas song, and it shows by the fact it's the only Christmas song in my chart this week. Also, it's only one of three songs to have made my top 10 - the other two are Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Reed Deming and, well, All I Want For Christmas Is You (SuperFestive!) by Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey! This week is also notable for Mariah because it matches her best position to date, tying with #3 hit Infinity from last year.

Jumping into the top 10 this week is FAB. by JoJo, giving her a third top 10 hit out of three so far, and Remy Ma her first. JoJo first charted with When Love Hurts just over a year ago, which made #7, and went even better with Fuck Apologies. which went to #1. For now, FAB. gets to #7 also, but can it climb even higher?

Up a huge 24 places following her X Factor performance this week is Zara Larsson, who claims her fifth top 10 hit in just over a year with new single I Would Like. The Swedish popstar's highest charting single to date is the #1 smash Never Forget You with MNEK, and it's been joined by top 5 hit Lush Life and top 10 hits Girls Like with Tinie Tempah, and most recently Ain't My Fault. MNEK has interestingly never scored a follow-up hit yet, meaning he's a one-hit wonder with no hits prior to Never Forget You either!

Whilst this week's #1 remains unchanged, we have a new #2, as Lost Kings climb 18 places with Phone Down. It is their first chart hit, but the second for featured artist Emily Warren, who previously achieved a #1 alongside Frenship on Capsize earlier this year. Also scoring their first top 10 hit is Starley, who's new at #8 with Call On Me (Ryan Riback Remix). It is Starley's first chart hit, and the first showing for Ryan Riback also.

Melanie C is new at #19 with Dear Life, matching the #19 peak of her previous hit Anymore. It's just one place above George Shelley's Scars, which performs less well than #8 hit 360 and #7 hit Soldier from the past two weeks but nonetheless keeps up his top 20 streak. Dua Lipa's #5 hit Be the One re-enters with its re-release happening currently, and Shane Harper makes his chart debut with Like I Did down at #38, expect that to climb lots next week! Finally, Alessia Cara's new at #29 with Scars to Your Beautiful, just one place lower than her best peak of #28 with Wild Things.

In the album chart, Troye Sivan's Blue Neighbourhood extends its record for most weeks at #1, notching up a 15th week today after a 7 place leap to the top spot. This week marked the one year anniversary of its release, so naturally I've played it a lot to celebrate the birthday of an album I can now comfortably say is one of my all-time favourites.
