Joseph's Hit 40

After debuting at #2 last week, Cheat Codes and Dante Klein jump up one spot this week, with both artists claiming their first EVER #1 with Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On), a reinterpretation of the Kevin Lyttle hit from the early 00s. Cheat Codes are an American dance trio, comprising Trevor Dahl, Kevin Ford and Matthew Russell, while Dante Klein is a Dutch DJ. Trevor Dahl was of course #1 with his solo song When You Come Home last week, and it slips to #2 this week. Both songs are still far ahead of the competition this week, but swap places as Let Me Hold You pulls ahead.

Hailee Steinfeld returns to the top 5 with her current single Starving. The collaboration with Grey and Zedd previously peaked at #4, and goes one better this week as it reaches a new peak of #3. This is Hailee's highest peaking single to date, and Zedd's highest since I Want You To Know with Selena Gomez also made #3. Previously, Zedd topped the chart with Ariana Grande collaboration Break Free.

This week's highest new entry comes from MØ, who claims her fifth top 10 hit with new single Drum. It follows her solo hits Kamikaze and Final Song, which made #8 and #4 respectively earlier this year, plus collaborations Beg For It with Iggy Azalea and Cold Water with Major Lazer & Justin Bieber, which made #2 and #1 respectively. Cold Water is up 14 spots this week to #20 too, off the back of Justin Bieber's Purpose World Tour which I went to see on Wednesday.

Also new in the top 10 this week is Blended Family (What You Do For Love), the next single from Alicia Keys' upcoming sixth studio album HERE. The A$AP Rocky collaboration gives Alicia only her second top 10 hit so far, after the #5 smash hit Girl On Fire in 2013. It's a notable improvement on previous single In Common which failed to make my top 40. It also gives A$AP Rocky a second chart hit, and a second top 10 in fact, after his feature on Selena Gomez's Good For You last year.

Also this week, The Vamps & Matoma enter at #8 with their collaboration All Night, intended as the first single from the upcoming third Vamps album. This is a very strong debut position on less than 24 hours of availability, so expect it to climb high next week! Will it continue their 100% run of #1 singles? The hype for this has caused Matoma's collaboration with Christopher to re-enter at #35 this week.

It's been a busy week for concerts (they're like buses - you wait ages for one and then they all come at once), with me attending Fifth Harmony's 7/27 tour, Justin Bieber's Purpose tour and All Saints' Red Flag tour all over the course of 4 days. The effect is clear in my chart, with all three of those albums locking out my album top 3 (with All Saints proving victorious and getting a second non-consecutive week at #1), as well as re-entries at the lower end of my singles chart from all of these artists.
