After stopping Tate McRae from pulling up to the top with “Sports Car”, Dutch singer and producer Antoon takes a third week at Number 1 with the electro-infused “Beetje Van Mij”. At the beginning of the 2020s, the young talent broke through with multiple hit singles, including three chart-toppers with “Hyperventilatie”, “Vluchtstrook” and “Hallo”. To top it all off, Antoon also sold out the Ziggo Dome twice. Last year, he produced multiple big hit singles – say Froukje & S10’s “Ik Haat Hem Voor Jou” or Roxy Dekker’s “Satisfyer” – but now Antoon is back for himself with the fast “Beetje Van Mij”. It ranks as one of his longest-running Number 1s. His reign is challenged by Chappell Roan with “Pink Pony Club” which moves up to #2 this week. The song could become the American breakout star her second Number 1-hit if it persists, following in the footsteps of “Good Luck, Babe!”.
Last week, multiple big stars performed at the 2025 BRITs at the O2 in London, including Sam Fender or Sabrina Carpenter. But the performance of the night, was, without a doubt, the star-making arrival of JADE. Within a mere four minutes, she delivered a five-act performance of “Angel of My Dreams” in which she changed costumes multiple times and teased the upcoming “FUFN”. It truly solidified JADE’s arrival as a solo artist, leaving the Little Mix-days behind. JADE was the last of the Little Mix ladies to have a go at it solo, debuting with “Angel of My Dreams” last year. It ultimately peaked atop my chart, making Little Mix the very first girl group from which every member scored a solo Number 1-hit. The follow-ups “Fantasy” and “IT Girl” all debuted within the Top 10. All of JADE’s hard work was rewarded with the fan-voted Best Pop Act and “IT Girl” its return to #10.
Last year, American singer Benson Boone made his international breakthrough with the loud rock hit “Beautiful Things”. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the national charts in over 19 other countries. Boone performed the song live at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, wearing a blue suit that was recently also worn by none other than Mark Zuckerburg. Though it was an inescapable breakout hit, it only peaked at #12. The follow-ups did not improve on that chart performance. Benson Boone is back, though, and set to score another international hit, and perhaps his first big one on this list. Benson Boone delivers “Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else", a disco-driven stand-alone release for his fans. It debuts at #22 this week, his best opening week on my chart so far.
Further down, the Dutch Eurovision representative Claude debuts with his entry “C’est La Vie” at #26. Last year’s Eurovision was a mess; the Dutch candidate Joost was wrongfully disqualified after a dispute with a reporter backstage. It did result in his single “Europapa” becoming an unmatched multi-platinum hit, peaking at Number 1 for six weeks and becoming the best-scoring Eurovision song by a wide margin. Claude has big shoes to fill! American rapper Sleepy Hallow debuts at #29 with his song “Anxiety”, contains a sample of "Anxiety" by Doechii, which itself samples "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye and Kimbra. It marks Doechii her second chart entry following the breakout single “Denial is a River”, which is still in the Top 10.
