Dominic Fike takes home his second Number 1

In 2019, Dominic Fike shot to the top of the charts with the sing-a-long smash “3 Nights”. It finished as one of the best-scoring songs of the 2010s. He then released a few follow-up singles and starred in HBO’s hit series Euphoria. Funnily enough, “3 Nights” was originally released alongside his small EP from 2018. It featured a few other catchy songs that never received a proper single release. And now, in 2026, a good few eight years later, that EP spawns its second Number 1-hit as “Babydoll” climbs to #1 today. “Babydoll” went viral on TikTok recently and it completely re-introduced Dominic Fike to the charts. With a total runtime of only 1 minute and 37 seconds, “Babydoll” is one of the shortest #1-hits of all time. “Babydoll” is further supported by the release of Euphoria’s third season this week. It has received muddled reviews so far. As Dominic Fike dethrones PinkPantheress & Zara Larsson, he becomes the first male solo artist to reach #1 since Sam Fender’s “Little Bit Closer” from last June. In the meantime, only female artists graced the crown position. As his “Babydoll” moves to the top spot, Dominic Fike also peaks at #10 with “White Keys” this week. Just like “Babydoll”, “White Keys” is a slow-burner. Dominic Fike originally wrote the song in 2020, drunk, and only released it at the end of 2025 because of fan demand.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in theatres soon, with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway set to reprise their iconic roles. The original film from 2006 spawned a surprisingly successful soundtrack. KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See”, which was used in the film’s opening credits, became KT’s breakout hit on my personal chart, while Madonna’s “Jump” its chart performance benefited from the song its inclusion on the soundtrack. The new film’s soundtrack is led by Lady Gaga and Doechii on the floor-filler “Runway”. It is a house single with strong influences from the ballroom scene. It strongly rings back to RuPaul’s heyday and prominently samples Bruno Mars’s “Finesse”. Lady Gaga is no stranger to a soundtrack hit; her A Star Is Born album spawned multiple Top 40-hits, including the best-selling “Shallow”. Doechii, meanwhile, earns her fourth Top 40-entry on this chart. She previously broke out with “Denial is A River” and then divided her fandom with the controversial radio hit “Anxiety”. With the anthemic “Runway”, Lady Gaga and Doechii easily bag the highest new entry of this week at #17.

Further down, Alex Warren earns his second Top 40-hit with “Fever Dream” new at #28. His previous song “Ordinary” was massive global hit, especially in the United States, yet it only reached #33 on this chart. Perhaps the more upbeat “Fever Dream” will fare much better. Further down, global girl group KATSEYE debut at #39 with the new electronic-driven “Pinky Up”. The girls broke through last year with the Rita Ora-reject “Gabriela” and were nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys. Though 2026 was set to become the girls’ biggest year yet, controversy arose when Manon Bannerman left the group due to undisclosed reasons. Fans and tabloids are speculating something went down behind the scenes, mainly because Manon is the only black member of KATSEYE. Other black members of diverse girl groups, including Normani and Leigh-Anne, have reached out to Manon, further fuelling speculations that Manon has left the band because of racism behind the scenes. Despite controversy, KATSEYE did perform at Coachella last weekend.
