RAYE sets her eyes on Olivia Dean’s Number 1

Officially solidifying herself as the rising star of 2025 – Olivia Dean keeps at Number 1 for a seventh consecutive week with “Man I Need”, boosted by the release of her sophomore album The Art of Loving. It has come at the end of a well-deserved breakthrough. Olivia Dean has been making waves in the underground music scene for a few years now, until her debut album helped her become BBC’s Artist of the Year and take over Glastonbury. “Man I Need” now matches her own “Rein Me In” with Sam Fender as the longest-running Number 1-hit of 2025 so far, with seven weeks and counting. But, competition is growing, as Olivia Dean now faces her biggest challengers yet: RAYE edges in on the top position with “Where Is My Husband!” and Tate McRae reaches a new peak at #3 with her edgy diss track “Tit For Tat”. Can Olivia Dean extend her reign for one more week?

The country genre has experienced a surge in popularity the last few years. Sabrina Carpenter her hits are all influenced by the American genre, Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs broke through in Europe – and its success even caused country-driven rhythms to reach Dutch pop music. Dutch country music is not much of a genre, though it had a pretty major moment in the late 1990s when Ilse DeLange broke through with her Nashville-recorded debut album World of Hurt. Enter, Meau & Douwe Bob, who are up in the Top 10 with “Nog Even Blijven”. It’s a cute little pop song that combines Meau her heartfelt lyricism and Douwe Bob his country influences. Both artists are no stranger to success; Meau’s break out Number 1 “Dat Heb Jij Gedaan” ranks as the best-scoring Dutch female solo hit of all time, while Douwe Bob represented the Netherlands at Eurovision and scored a sleeper Top 10-hit last year with the country-driven “Nothing to Lose”.

Further down, Froukje and S10 link up for the fifth time to make some spectacular pop music. Has any duo ever teamed up this many times before? The Dutch indie-pop singers first collaborated in 2022 on the acclaimed “Zonder Gezicht”, which was voted as the best Dutch song of that year by music critics. Top 5-success followed on the subsequent collaborations 2022’s “Nooit Meer Spijt”, 2024’s “Ik Haat Hem Voor Jou” and this year’s “Hart In Brand”. To cap it all off, Froukje and S10 are to headline their joint show at the Ziggo Dome. Not only will the duo perform their previous collaborations, they’ll also have access to their own solo hits, including Froukje’s Top 3-smash hit “Als Ik God Was” and S10’s Eurovision ballad “De Diepte”. This week, Froukje and S10 released a small extended play containing all their collaborations to promote their upcoming co-show. It also features the slow-tempo lead single “Misschien” which secures the highest debut of this week at #14.

PinkPantheress hit a homerun this year with her second mixtape Fancy That, spawning the hit singles “Tonight” and “Illegal”. It was met with critical acclaim and a hit on the UK Album Charts. This week she dropped the surprise remix edition Fancy Some More, featuring guest appearances from JT, Jade, Kylie Minogue and the Sugababes. Focus track “Noises” debuts at #21 featuring “Okay”-rapper JT. At #29, Belgian pop phenomenon Pommelien Thijs showcase her electro pop abilities on the new single “Ik Moet Gaan”. It’s taken from her sophomore album Gedoe, which already spawned the Number 1s “Het Midden” with Meau and this year’s best-seller – so far– “Atlas”. The album is a runaway success in Belgium, as it debuted on Spotify with four million streams in its opening week. “Ik Moet Gaan” is Pommelien Thijs her landmark tenth Top 40-hit. The Marías strike down as the last entry of the week at #38 with “Run Your Mouth”. The American indie-pop band has been rumoured as the Best New Artist for the upcoming Grammys and have been in the Spotify Top 50 of the United States for several months now. Their single “No One Noticed” is a big hit over there. The Marías also collaborated with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. They now earn their first Top 40-hit on this chart with the sleeper hit “Run Your Mouth”, which was originally released last year to promote their sophomore album.

Wow, Olivia Dean is absolutely dominating with Man I Need holding strong at #1 for the seventh week—such an impressive run! Tate McRae’s TIT FOR TAT is steady in the Top 10, and Olivia’s So Easy (To Fall In Love) continues its climb, showing her amazing consistency this week. Lady Gaga’s The Dead Dance is hanging in there, while Tame Impala and Taylor Swift are making their moves with Dracula and The Fate of Ophelia both showing growth. Miley’s Secrets joins the mix, and Kehlani rounds out the notable movers. Some solid tracks rising through the ranks this week!
