Snelle and Maan win close race to Number 1, fighting off strong competition from Suzan & Freek

Dutch singers Snelle and Maan enter a fifth consecutive week at Number 1 with their hit-single “Blijven Slapen”. The two remain atop the chart very steadily, aided by big streaming numbers and playlisting. The two face competition from another Dutch act: Suzan & Freek. They aim for Number 1 with “Goud” this week, which has also become another national success. Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa close out the Top 3 with “Real Groove (Remix)”, which steadily remains at Number 3.

American rapper and “Old Town Road”-singer Lil Nas X enters the Top 10 at Number 10 with “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”. The new song has received high praise for being unapologetically queer, but has also sparked controversy in the United States. The single is Lil Nas X is his second Top 10-entry on this list, following the platinum-certified “Old Town Road”.

The highest debut of the week is claimed by Doja Cat and SZA with “Kiss Me More”. The song is the lead single of Doja her upcoming studio album, titled Planet Her. The song strongly reminds of Doja’s break-out hit “Say So”, which peaked at Number 1 on this chart a little less than a year ago. The featured SZA is no stranger to success herself, following Top 10-hits “All The Stars” and, more recently, “Good Days”. Doja Cat and SZA their newest “Kiss Me More” debuts at Number 13 this week.

Aside from Doja Cat and SZA their top entry, four other songs make their debut. At Number 24, we meet Mimi Webb with “Good Without”. The British 20-year-old has already experienced global success via TikTok and has been climbing the British official charts steadily. At Number 29, Dutch band Racoon enter with “Hee Joh Jip”, another Dutch singles following the massive success of “Het Is Al Laat Toch” from last year. At Number 34, classic disco-band Boney M. make their grand return with a remix of “Rasputin” which has been experiencing viral success lately. At Number 40, American rapper Polo G debuts with “Rapstar”, which has been a massive streaming hit on Spotify the past week.

This week is another special week for worldwide icon Taylor Swift. The American singer-songwriter has released the re-recorded version of her debut album Fearless to worldwide commercial success. The re-recorded album, aptly titled Taylor’s Version, is not just a simple re-release, as new featured singers join in and previously unreleased singles are now included. Following the success of Fearless (Taylor’s Version), I decided to take a look back at Taylor’s decade-defining musical success on my chart. Taylor first entered my Top 40 in 2009 with “Love Story”, which would went on to become her first Top 10-entry. More successes followed, both big and small, with some stand-outs being “You Belong With Me” and “Half Of My Heart” with John Mayer. In 2014, Taylor Swift released her most successful album to date, 1989, which gave Taylor her first Number 1 on my list: “Blank Space”. The song spent four weeks atop the chart, was the Christmas Number 1 of 2014 and was certified double-platinum. It would on to become Taylor’s biggest success on my chart to date. The follow-up singles “Style”, “Bad Blood” with Kendrick Lamar” and “Wildest Dreams” all consecutively debuted at Number 1 as well, an incredible feat. In total, Taylor Swift earned four Number 1s and twenty-seven Top 40-entries, making her one of the most successful artists of all time. For a Top 10 of Taylor’s biggest hits, see the list below this chart.
