Take That remains at Number 1 for an eighth week. The boy group extends their reign as ‘Artist with the Most Weeks at Number 1’ and ‘Single with the Most Weeks at Number 1’. The British boy group does face strong competition though, as La Bouche comes closely with Be My Lover at Number 2 and Livin’ Joy nears with Dreamer at Number 3.
Two artists make their debut in the Top 10. Bryan Adams enters the Top 10 with Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? at Number 6. The Bucketheads also score a Top 10-entry with The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall into My Mind) at Number 8.
Danish singer Whigfield scores her second Top 10-entry. She already entered the Top 10 once with Saturday Night, which spent four weeks at Number 1 and is one of 1995’s best-selling singles. Her newest single is Think of You, which peaks at Number 10.
German Eurodance-act Dune is the biggest gainer of the week with Hardcore Vibes. The single, which was the highest debut of last week, proves to be a fierce climber, racking up eight places. The single peaks at Number 13.
The biggest dropper of the week is Dutch rapper T.O.F. with Funk It Up. The single peaked at Number 3 and was certified Gold. The song loses seven places this week.
The highest debut of the week is scored by Alanis Morissette. The Canadian singer-songwriter has not entered the list before, thus making You Oughta Know her debut single. The song enters at Number 17.
Greek composer Vangelis receives a Gold Certification for Conquest of Paradise. The single peaked at Number 2 for two, non-consecutive weeks. The song is currently charting at Number 4.
