Take That scores the highest debut of the week after Robbie Williams’s departure

Take That scores the highest debut of the week, but this time, they enter as a foursome. Robbie Williams left the band in June 1995, leaving Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange behind. The group already released Never Forget mid-way 1995 as a quartet, but that song still had the vocals of Robbie Williams on it. This time, however, the group just consists of four men. Their completely new single How Deep Is Your Love, which is a cover of the original by the Bee Gees, enters at Number 16.

Take That has left a huge legacy on the list. The boys scored the biggest-scoring single of 1995 with Back For Good, which spent eight weeks at Number 1 and was certified 3 x Platinum. They currently holds the record for ‘Artist with the Most Weeks At Number 1’ and ‘Single with the Most Weeks at Number 1’. Take That has scored three additional Top 10s as well.

Meanwhile, Marco Borsato claims a fourth week at Number 1 with Ik Leef Niet Meer Voor Jou. As the single has scored over 40,000 points, the hit receives a Gold Certification. This is Marco Borsato his third Gold Certification, following Waarom Nou Jij and Je Hoeft Niet Naar Huis Vannacht, of which the latter was eventually certified Platinum as well.

Céline Dion scores her third Top 10-entry with Because You Loved Me. The French-Canadian vocalist already entered the upper quarter already with Pour que tu m'aimes encore and her chart-topper Think Twice, which is her most successful single to date. Her newest effort peaks at Number 3.

Tina Turner receives a Platinum Certification for her hit GoldenEye, which is the title song for the James Bond-film of the same name. This is Tina Turner her first Platinum Certification and the first 007-song to receive one as well. The hit peaked at Number 2.
