The Spice Girls score their third consecutive Official Christmas Number 1-hit; B*Witched their “C’est La Vie” goes 3 x Platinum

The Spice Girls celebrate a second week at Number 1 with Goodbye. The hit is the tenth consecutive chart-topper and the first ever single without Geri Halliwell. Additionally, Goodbye has become the Official Christmas Number 1 of 1998. The song is the girls’ third consecutive Christmas Number 1-hit, as 2 Become 1 was the Christmas Number 1 of 1996 and Too Much was the Christmas Number 1 of 1998. The Spice Girls face minor competition from the Vengaboys, whom seek to reclaim to crown position.

Before 1998 is over, Marco Borsato steps into the Top 10 with Het Water. The single is the second release from Marco Borsato his new album “De Bestemming”. The album already spawned the Top 10-hit De Bestemming, which went on to become a minor success. Some of Marco Borsato his bigger singles include the chart-toppers Ik Leef Niet Meer Voor Jou and Wereld Zonder Jou. Macro Borsato his new releases continue to be big successes in the Netherlands and Belgium. On this list, the new De Bestemming peaks at Number 9.

Acda en de Munnik were one of this year’s breakout-stars. The group now score the highest debut of the week with Het Regent Zonnestralen. Previous successes include the massive Top 10-hit Niet of Nooit Geweest, which peaked at Number 2 and was certified Platinum. As of a few weeks, the hit single holds over 65,000 points. Acda en de Munnik now return with the critically acclaimed Het Regent Zonnestralen, which promises to be another success for the group. The new single debuts at Number 12 this week.
