Luke’s Top Tracks - in a surprise turn of events, The Japanese House claim their first ever chart-topper

That’s right! Following a tumultuous week of streams, Taylor Swift is no longer #1 for the first time in nearly two months! That only means one thing - we have a brand new #1. The Japanese House claim this week’s top spot with “Maybe You’re the Reason”, jumping three places following the song’s debut last week. It is their first ever song to top the chart! Following closely behind, we have a drop of one place for Taylor Swift’s “Is it Over Now?”, dethroned following an almighty twelve weeks at the top! And finally, rounding off this week’s top three, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor” also drops one place.

Who could possibly claim next week’s #1? The Japanese House have taken it this week, but it really is hard to tell between them, Taylor Swift and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. All three of them have taken turns at the top spot mid-week! Alternatively, could the rising influence of the likes of The 1975 also threaten the success of The Japanese House?
