In The New Musical Express (NME) Hit Parade, the songs regularly shared a chart position due to finishing the week with the same sales figure (small sample size collated in the early days). For Effervescence continuity purposes, the song listed first on the source used will be given the higher of the shared positions. The only songs that can share a position are double A-side Singles. For double A-Side singles, both songs will be listed separately with the same chart position for Effervescence continuity purposes.
