Chart

My Top 50

Flor "holds on" to #1, while Christmas songs challenge.

Rock band Flor is at #1 for a second week, but it faces a major challenge from several Christmas songs. The most notable being "Carol of the Bells" by Pentatonix, which rockets up 10-2. Now, our #3 is not looking good, as "New Year's Day" by Taylor Swift falls from its #2 peak. I don't see its merits, at least right now. The Christmas songs are just too big for it to not get steamrolled. That, of course will be "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" by Lindsey Stirling featuring Sabrina Carpenter, as it rises 5-4, with some decent gains, coupled with a big gain off a debut down below. Now, you'd think "Marry Me" by Thomas Rhett, like "New Year's Day", wouldn't have a good time, but I'd say it's less likely, as it's a strong single, and probably the best song Rhett's ever released, so while it falls 4-5, it'll hold for a bit.

"Sleigh Ride" by Pentatonix rises to a new peak, going 13-6, but with so much Pentatonix in the chart right now, they're just facing a lot of overexposure. Which I didn't think was going to be an effect for my personal chart, but we'll see. It's doing well, but not as well as I thought it would. Now, we get songs getting rotated out for Christmas. "KILL4ME" by Marilyn Manson falls 3-7, going out of the Top 10 far quicker than most songs, but it's been here a bit. What hasn't been here long and may be a victim of the season, are "Let You Down" by NF, which falls 6-8, despite a gain in performance, it may have petered out. Same with unfortunately, "Reggaeton Lento" by CNCO & Little Mix, which loses 7-10. Both are falling out of the Top 10, but hey, especially for the latter, I got to it too late. It happens. Now, what's not being stopped is the monster gain for "Jingle Bells" by Drake Bell, which rose 17-8.

Moving on to the debuts, we don't have many. The big one is "Carol of the Bells" by Lindsey Stirling off its official video. Of course, we get another Christmas song from Pentatonix. Now, the other entries are more interesting. "I'm Not Racist" by Joyner Lucas debuts at #41, just missing the Top 40, but expected to rise, especially when all the Christmas leaves, "Five More Minutes" by Scott McCreery at #45, and we get two covers: "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" by Echosmith featuring Hunter Hayes, and "Castle on the Hill" by Thomas Rhett.

To the Bubbling Under, more Christmas songs come, along with "Lookin' Up" by Barenaked Ladies, which could enter next week. Taylor Swift continues to take a beating, as "Getaway Car" is facing a drop out as early as next week, and "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" makes quite an early exit. Kirstin, on the other hand, escapes dropping out once again, as "Break a Little" rises 50-46.

It's getting quite competitve in this chart come holiday season. We'll see what the Christmas #1 will be.

It's sad to see that 'New Year's Day' appears to have lost its chance at #1, but hey, it's still good to see that it got as high as #2! :)
I'm a bit disappointed that 'Dancing With Our Hands Tied' dropped out completely, but I love that 'Kiwi' re-entered.
I really like the longevity of 'Break A Little' & regarding 'Five More Minutes', it was #1 on Bubbling Under for the actual chart, so maybe it can debut on the Hot 100 next week!
I hope you can check out my latest chart & I'll see you on the BB200 article a bit later.

It still has a chance, around January 1st. "Break a Little" might be dropping out soon with all the holiday songs entering, along with "Honest". "Five More Minutes" took time, but it did eventually grow on me.

I remember when I said that "Let You Down" has to grow on me. Butt since I heard it on Most Requested Live last night, I'm already hooked after the second listen! I won't be surprised if it ends up in my top ten within the new few weeks. Other than that, nice to see "Reggaeton Lento" and "New Year's Day" in the top 10 (I have no idea Taylor has released Christmas music before)

Beyond your top ten, nice to see "Break A Little", "Lights Down Low" (surprised that song is still doing well on the radio), the "MIC Drop" remix, "Kiwi", and a couple of Taylor's album tracks. (I'm surprised that after hearing "reputation" for the first time, nothing can beat "Ready For It". It is still my favorite for the album.)

Glad you like it. But yeah, Taylor released a Christmas EP. "Break a Little" should be dropping out soon - I doubt it'll beat "Call Me Maybe"'s record of lasting 44 weeks on my chart.
