CHART HIGHLIGHTS
- Travis Scott's 'Highest In The Room' makes a massive #1 debut on the Hot 100! It's his second #1 overall (following 2018's 'Sicko Mode' for one week) & first to enter at the chart summit.
- The song's success is mostly fuelled by streaming, where it received 59 million US streams for the tracking week, allowing it to easily enter at the top of the tally! It also arrives at #2 on the sales chart, with 51.000 downloads for the week.
- While 'Highest In The Room' is the 1,090th song to dominate the Hot 100, it is only the 35th to start at the top! This means that approximately 3% of all Hot 100 #1s are songs that spent their first week there.
- Despite 'Truth Hurts' dropping to #2 on the Hot 100, it does remain just one week from tying 'Fancy' as the longest Hot 100 #1 of all-time by a female rap artist. It also leads Radio Songs for a fourth consecutive week (120.4 million, -1%).
- The other big news happening this week is the Top 5 debut for '10,000 Hours' by Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber, entering the chart at #4. With 53,000 downloads for the week, it becomes Dan + Shay's first Digital Song Sales ruler & JB's 10th.
- Among Top 10s, Dan + Shay land their first ever appearance in the region, while JB earns his 16th Top 10 entry! In the latter case, this is Justin's 200th cumulative week inside the Hot 100's Top 10.
- In terms of country songs, Dan + Shay earn their third Hot Country Songs ruler, while JB gets his first appereance at the top of the tally! It's the first song to debut in the Hot 100's Top 10 by a lead country act since Taylor Swift with 'Red' in 2012.
- Other movements in the Top 10 include: 'Senorita' by Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello (2-3), 'Someone You Loved' by Lewis Capaldi (3-5), 'Circles' by Post Malone (7-6), 'Ransom' by Lil Tecca (4-8), 'Bad Guy' by Billie Eilish (6-9) & 'Panini' by Lil Nas X (8-10).
- The Top 10 in full is posted below, but check beneath it for other positions revealed elsewhere in the chart so far.
- Thanks for reading everyone! :)

Hey Coolocelot! Glad to see you commenting here. :)
There's actually a Disqus forum that myself & some others comment on regarding the Hot 100. It's on Headline Planet every Monday night if you're curious in stopping by there one day!
Regarding the chart itself, I actually prefer the UK charts, since I'm usually not the biggest fan of most of the trap that becomes big in the US! Also, dance music is much less successful on the other side of the Atlantic unless you're The Chainsmokers, Marshmello or Zedd, e.g. 'Happier' has been #1 on the dance charts there for nearly 60 consecutive weeks now.
It seems like 'Highest In The Room' will only spend one week at the top, allowing 'Truth Hurts' to return there next week & therefore, tie 'Fancy's record!
'Someone You Loved' wouldn't be a 10/10 from me, but I'm also still loving it after all this time! Incredibly, it might not have even peaked on the Hot 100 yet, as it's got #2 potential going into next week.
'Ransom' has sadly never interested me all that much & easily one of the worst songs in the Top 10 right now!
You're welcome, thanks again for stopping by.
By the way, I'm going away until Tuesday, so I'm sadly going to miss the OCC article for this week, but I did upload a new personal chart out if you'd like to check that out!
See you soon mate.

Hey Piran!
Very glad I've read through this article, these are so fun.
Very surprised to see “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it's also nice to see "10,000 Hours" debuting in the top 5.
If I would rank these songs, here's how I would rank them (from favourite to least favourite): 1. Circles 2. Señorita 3. Panini 4. 10,000 Hours 5. Bad Guy 6. Truth Hurts 7. Ransom 8. HIGHEST IN THE ROOM 9. Someone You Loved 10. No Guidance

I particularly love the Billboard Hot 100, due to hip hop that never gets much traction in the UK sadly. Anyways, I'm happy that Highest in the Room debuted at the top, and I really love that Bad Guy and Someone You Loved (straight 10/10s after all this time) are still going strong! The only song I'm not fond of appearing on here is Panini, which got a strong 3/10 from me. I like Truth Hurts still at #2 on the BBH100, and Ransom, even if the latter is slowly getting old for me. Thanks for the Hot 100's Top 10 on Crownnote as always! :D
