Billboard Hot 100 (September 28, 2019)

CHART HIGHLIGHTS

- Lizzo's 'Truth Hurts' spends its fourth consecutive week at #1 on the chart, making it the longest running solo #1 hit by a female rap artist (surpassing Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow"). Among all female rap #1s, it's the longest since 'Fancy' by Iggy Azalea ft Charli XCX (7 weeks, 2014).

- 'Truth Hurts' also takes the top spot on Radio Songs, with a weekly US audience of 116.4 million! It's the first rap song to rule on radio in over a year, since 'I Like It' hit the top of the chart back in July 2014!

- Former #1s, 'Senorita' & 'Bad Guy' rank at #2 and #3 respecitvely. The latter has now spent 6 cumulative months (26 weeks) inside the Hot 100's Top 10!

- Completing the Top 5 are two new arrivals to the tier! 'Someone You Loved' jumps 9-4 to become the Digital Sales Gainer with 21,000 downloads & gives Lewis Capaldi his first Top 5 hit in America!

- 'Panini' is also showing future chart-topper potential, as it soars 14-5 in the latest chart! Thanks to an official video and a remix, it convincingly ranks as the most watched song on US YouTube this week with 16.4 million views!

- The rest of the Top 10 is as follows: 'Ransom' by Lil Tecca (stationary at #6, fifth week atop Streaming Songs), 'No Guidance' by Chris Brown ft Drake (stationary at #7), 'Goodbyes' & 'Circles' by Post Malone (falling 3-8 and 4-9 respectively), and 'Old Town Road' by Lil Nas X making a return to the region (11-10).

- The Top 10 is posted in full below, but check beneath it for other positions revealed so far!

Hi Piran!
Thank you for the commentary on the Billboard Hot 100 for this week.
Nice to see "Panini" in the top 5 at #5 (not #4), but I'm also surprised seeing "Old Town Road" return to the top 10, I thought the momentum died after it lost the #1 spot.
If I would rank these songs, here's how I would rank them (from favourite to least favourite):
1. Circles
2. Señorita
3. Panini
4. Goodbyes
5. Bad Guy
6. Truth Hurts
7. Old Town Road
8. Ransom
9. Someone You Loved
10. No Guidance
Also, I'm shocked that "Don't Call Me Angel" debuted below the top 10, thought because of the names attached to this song, it would be higher.
Nice commentary!

Hey Sergej! Good to see you here. :)
Yeah, I'll be posting my own commentary of the Billboard Hot 100 every Monday on here from now on, as well as my personal Top 40 songs of the week each Friday as usual!
I'm also really pleased that 'Panini' jumped to #5 (that part in my review got corrected!) & I honestly don't mind it going all the way to #1, just as long as we don't get another 19-week reign from him, haha.
On that topic, I guess 'Old Town Road' returning to the Top 10 is okay. It's still got impressive streaming & YouTube numbers, so I'm not too surprised to see it back here with how weak the lower Top 10 is right now... even if I am ridiculously tired of it at this point!
I feel like our Top 10 rankings are fairly similar, although I'd probably place 'Someone You Loved' higher despite how long it's been out for, while 'Goodbyes' would be considerably lower! It seems like we agree on 'No Guidance' being the lowest of them all here.
Again, thanks for checking this out. Nice to know that you follow the US charts regularly like I do!

You're welcome Piran!
I'm a chart watcher, not only do I regularly follow the German & US charts, but also the UK charts, the Italian charts, the sales charts on iTunes of those countries and a lot more!

Hey Piran! It's good that now you also comment on the Billboard Hot 100. Magnificent! Thank you.

Hey Rockmaker! :)
You're welcome! I'm planning on posting weekly Billboard Hot 100 commentaries here every Monday from now on.
Hope you're doing good anyway!
