Hey Piran! Of course you wouldn't be surprised that I adore Body Back at #1 but I really don't like that #3 entry for OMG. It may be popular for you, but I really don't like it. As things are back to normal after the Christmas bomb then that leaves Audacity to be the only song dropping, even if it's only one place. Looking at your comment above, then I love the re-entries for Someone You Loved, Senorita, Post Malone, and Old Town Road. As for the gainers, I like the most: Broken Hearts, BBY, Don't Start Now, Vossi Bop and Blinding Lights. It's awesome to see Graveyard and Futsal Shuffle 2020 enter - but regarding the former, better late than never! I'm also noticing Six Feet Under in your Bubbling Under...! Amazing chart again! ;)
Hey Coolocelot! :)
Haha, that's still amazing to hear regarding 'Body Back', as this is now its 6th week at #1, so it could actually tie the record for both a dance song & collaboration if it gets next week at the top too (which is looking possible right now).
That being said, it's really disappointing to hear that you didn't like 'OMG', but we can't agree on everything & your taste is still awesome!
'Audacity' might recover soon, but I guess it fell because I'm alternating between 'Superheroes' & 'Own It' as far as Stormzy songs go at the moment.
Those re-entries you mentioned were all some of my 2019 favourites that I came back to celebrate the New Year, but I expect they'll be gone again by next week unfortunately.
That being said, I definitely think 'BBY' & 'Don't Start Now' will be climbing again next week (maybe into the Top 10), while 'Six Feet Under' is almost certain to make a debut lower down!
Not too sure what's happening with 'Graveyard', but I'm just impressed it made it here at all given how long it was stuck on the Bubbling Under chart for.
Thanks for the comment!
Hey Coolocelot! :)
I honestly don't know how many more weeks 'Body Back' will get at the top, since it only has a really small lead over its competition now, so songs like 'Wrong Direction' or 'P.S. I Hope You're Happy' could catch it even soon as next Thursday.
Either way, if 'Body Back' does remain at the top in the next chart, it'll tie some huge records with a 7th non-consecutive week at #1, including the longest #1 ever: by a male artist, for a collaboration, for a 2010's song & for an EDM song. Of course, outside of the iconic 12 weeks at the top for 'Love Story', the four songs currently tied in second at the moment are: 'Body', 'Uptown Funk', 'Can't Stop The Feeling' & 'Closer' (the former being the only one to do this since I got Crown Note!).
Yeah, 'Wrong Direction' hits deep, so it'll certainly be challenging for the chart summit here next week, although I sadly don't see it much outside of a decent number of downloads in the UK, so Top 40 is looking unlikely for it next Friday, although hopefully it gets there eventually.
As for 'Came For The Low', it's certainly flawed, but I somehow still adore it since it's a banger, haha!
Thanks for checking out these predictions anyway mate.
Hey mate! :)
Just for whenever you're next online, I've posted my Top 10 Billie Eilish songs on the new Hot 100 article as promised: https://headlineplanet.com/home/2020/01/06/billboard-hot-100-post-malon…
I hope you have a good week.
Glad you were able to check it out mate! :)
'Six Feet Under' might not have reached its full chart potential yet, but if it can survive the upcoming Echosmith album bomb, then I really think another Top 10 could be possible for Billie Eilish here.
That's awesome, as I actually substituted my "Track Of The Week" for a new theme called "The Emoji Challenge", which I think you might like!
How have you been this week anyway?
Hey mate. Ooh, I'm intrigued to see where Six Feet Under lands after the Echosmith bomb! And I've seen this Emoji Challenge and I actually quite like it! I wouldn't have guessed Blank Space though, haha.
Oh I've been alright, it's just been a regular week for me, no bad issues. I'll try to be on Headline Planet when I can! :)
Hello Piran!
Nice to see "Body Back" still at #1! I also like that "Blinding Lights" and "My Oh My" reached the top 10.
As well as the gains for "Don't Start Now", "Adore You" and "Future Nostalgia", the debut for "Heartless" and the re-entries for "Circles", "Someone You Loved", "Senorita", "South Of The Border", "Post Malone", "Old Town Road", "Dancing With A Stranger" and "Own It"!
Great chart, I've also put out my new chart in group chat, check it out if you have the time!
Hsy Sergej! :)
That's good to hear about my #1, since this is now its 6th non-consecutive week at the top, which means it ties 'Senorita' as the longest #1 for a 2019 song.
'Blinding Lights' & 'My Oh My' were both in the Top 10 before the Christmas takeover, so the fact that they both managed to re-enter a few weeks later impressed even me, especially since both could climb again next week!
Most of the others only came back due to my Year-End playlist, although I think 'Own It' could make another small rebound in the upcoming chart.
Thanks for commenting as usual!
Hey Piran, finally.....The Weeknd enters your chart with heartless! and good to see blinding lights climb into your top 10 (it has been 5 weeks consecutive at no.1 on my chart - despite me only starting on here 3 weeks ago)- love the 80s feel to the song. Yeah I noticed that some re-entries are down as new entries? is that because its the first chart of the year? so that it doesn't mess with points for 2020?
My chart is out too and check out my predictions for next week at the bottom of my chart.
Hey Zack! How's your week been? :)
Yeah, it was stuck at #1 on my bubbling under chart for like a month, but all the Christmas songs dropping out finally allowed 'Heartless' to enter this week, even if I sadly don't see it getting any higher.
I'm not entirely sure, but the think the re-entries are showing as debuts because of some kind of Y2K20 bug... you also can't see peaks & weeks in on any chart at the moment either!
I'll comment on your new chart shortly.
Thanks for posting here as usual!
Ive had a busy week but look forward to Fridays to put up my chart. Interesting, so I guess the milennium bug has hit us 20 yrs later! I just assumed it was the first chart of the new year, so hence everything was set as zero? Will see if it corrects itself for next weeks chart. Have a good week
Hi Piran, on your recommendation I have started listening to "Body Back" and it sounds great, so much so that it's already part of my Top 100. The same goes for "OMG", what a great song. I'm not surprised that they are part of your Top 3. Although the combination of The Chainsmokers with blink-182 seems strange to me (I mean the difference in styles, although I both like them a lot), the result - "PS I Hope You're Happy" - is amazing. Again Maia Wright is close to replacing herself in No. 1? "Wait For You" sounds great. "Shut Up and Kiss Me" is quite pleasant to my ears. Great debut of "Came For The Low" in No. 12, quite rhythmic. Great first chart of the year! :)
Hey Rockmaker! :)
I'm glad to hear you've checked out all three songs in my new Top 3 & the fact that you really like every single one of them is awesome, especially since it allows 'Body Back' to break into your own chart for the first time.
Maia Wright may have three songs inside this week's Top 5, but it's looking Hailee Steinfeld's new single is a big contender to dethrone 'Body Back' next week!
'Shut Up & Kiss Me' is due for a big boost soon since Echosmith are releasing their next album this coming Friday, while 'Came For The Low' will be moving up too as it's an amazing EDM banger.
Thanks for your comment as usual!
Incredible chart liking looks like it's only one down Stormzy Audacity
like it for Blinding Lights jumping into top 10 & I see top 10 occupied by EDM and the chainsmokers second position and Family jUst outside top 10 liking it Don't Start Now up nicely. As usual it's 110% overall rating
Thanks Brandyy! :)
'Audacity' might rebound next week, but I'm just streaming 'Superheroes' & 'Own It' a lot more at the moment.
EDM is going to have a massive 2020 given that it's occupying most of the Top 10 & also been #1 for the past few weeks, although I'm not too sure if 'Family' & 'Don't Start Now' are going to return to the region!
Glad you like the chart overall though.
Have a nice week mate!
Hey Piran! This is an amazing chart right here, with the Christmas dropouts leading to some awesome climbs and re-entries! First, though, of course it's fantastic to see 'Body Back' getting a 6th non-consecutive week at #1 and still holding strong! It's also great to see that climb for 'When I'm With U' giving Maia Wright 3 simultaneous tracks inside the Top 5! Was the last time this happened for you when Taylor held the entire Top 10 following the release of 'Lover'? Other than that, it's great to see 'Superheroes', 'Blinding Lights' and 'My Oh My' all rebounding into the Top 10, and the rebounds for 'Vossi Bop', 'Do Better' and 'First Man' further down are all good as well. The re-entries this week for 'Circles', 'Someone You Loved', 'Señorita', 'ROXANNE', 'South of the Border', 'Post Malone', 'Old Town Road', 'Sweet but Psycho', 'Dancing With A Stranger' and especially 'Own It' are all absolutely fantastic to see; which ones of these are likely to stick around, and which are likely to fall out again quickly? That debut for 'Graveyard' so long after it first came out is really cool to see as well. Great chart again! :D
Hey Gameskiller! How's it going? :)
I know you're not a fan of Christmas music, so I thought you might love this chart a lot more, haha!
'Body Back' now ties 'Senorita' as the longest #1 for a 2019 song, but if it spend next week at the top too, it'll tie: 'Body', 'Closer', 'Can't Stop The Feeling' & 'Uptown Funk' as the longest #1 for a 2010's song, with only 'Love Story' ahead of them as far as all-time charts go.
I believe Taylor Swift with 'Lover' back in August was the last time an artist had three songs inside the Top 5 (since Camila didn't do it with 'Romance'), although the more interesting case here is that Maia Wright was able to achieve it without an album bomb!
Of the re-entries, I think: 'Circles', 'Someone You Loved', 'South Of The Border' & 'Own It' are looking the most likely ones to stick around.
'Graveyard' might not last very long, but given that it's been out a while now, I'm just amazed it got here at all!
I'll hopefully reply to your 2019 End Of Year OCC chart ranking later this evening.
Thanks for commenting here!
Hey Naos! :)
That's awesome, since it might even get a 7th non-consecutive week at #1 in tomorrow's chart too! I was so pleased to see it at #1 on the bubbling under in your most recent chart.
'OMG' might fall a bit over the next few weeks sadly, but 'Blinding Lights' should hold up well outside of Echosmith's likely album bomb coming up (their next album comes out this Friday!).
'Auld Lang Syne's debut isn't that odd, since this chart was uploaded on the 2nd & I streamed it a lot on NYE, enough for it to hit the upper half of my chart.
Thanks for the comment as usual!
'Circles', 'Someone You Loved', 'Senorita', 'Roxanne', 'South Of The Border', 'Post Malone', 'Old Town Road', 'Sweet But Psycho', 'Dancing With A Stranger' & 'Own It' are all showing as "debuts", but they are actually re-entries!
