Chart - 4 December 2020

Week 49

Following a pattern that mirrors the chart run of All Time Low's 'Summer Daze (Seasons, Pt. 2),' this week Gary Barlow's 'Incredible' rises to the top again to complete the third alternate No. 1 cycle, something the former did not manage to achieve. Thanks to the release of his new album, Music Played by Humans, and the new standalone Christmas version of the song released on Tuesday, 'Incredible' is comfortably in the lead from last week's chart-topper 'Monsters' by All Time Low, which now slides five places to No. 6.

So who are his competitors, you might ask? Well, it's none other than himself. The new album means a slew of new entries, and it spawns in two new Top 3 hits with deluxe exclusive 'Let's Get Drunk' and standard 'Supernatural' at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Also new from the album is the single 'This Is My Time,' which arrives at No. 9 after spending a few weeks bubbling under. Elsewhere in the middle, four more album tracks join in: the James Corden featured 'The Kind of Friend I Need' starts at No. 12, followed by 'You Make the Sun Shine' with Barry Manilow at No. 13. Just under is 'The Big Bass Drum' at No. 14 while 'Who's Driving This Thing' marks the last of seven tracks to debut from his new album this week at No. 16. But all that Gary love does not stop here. 'Shame' by Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow crashes in at No. 8 after the Chris Moyles parody was played during his interview on Radio X this week.

Deciding whether All Time Low's 'Summer Daze (Seasons, Pt. 2)' or 'Sleeping In' was the more underrated song was a tough decision to make, but nonetheless the dilemma helped the former gain three places to No. 4 and propel the latter twenty places back into the chart at No. 5.

Dua Lipa's 'Be the One' is truly 'the one' new entry that isn't related to Gary Barlow here. The single from her self-titled album is No. 10 this week.

Hey Rector! I haven't heard Gary Barlow's new album, but it's quite incredible to see the immense impact it's had on your charts this week haha! I absolutely love seeing 'Be the One' debut at #10; it's one of the best from her first album in my opinion. What caused it to make such a big debut this week so long after release, though? I love that 'Paradise' is #1 on the Bubbling Under chart this week, and seeing 'Sweet Melody' and 'pov' on there is good as well. I love that 'Future Nostalgia', 'Positions' and 'Dua Lipa' are all in your albums chart Top 5 as well!! Great chart again! :D

Hey Gameskiller! It's great to see you enjoy 'Be the One''s debut! I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago, but since then it has been in the lower echelons of the bubbling under chart if that even exists haha! I actually played this song in the background a few days ago while in a call and they told me to turn it off so the rebel in me turned it up instead xD I'm also glad you enjoy the entries in the bubbling under chart and album chart! Thanks for the comment! :D

Hey Rector! :)
I can't really comment on the album bomb for Gary Barlow much, but I absolutely adore seeing 'Shame' & 'Be The One' both debut inside the Top 10.
Nice chart as usual!

Hey Piran! :) I'm glad you enjoyed the debuts of 'Shame' and 'Be the One!' Thanks for the comment!
