In a unfortunate twist given current events, The Weeknd climbs two spots to claim the #1 position with "Dancing in the Flames". My thoughts are with everyone in California currently facing the fires.
On a brighter note, Sabrina Carpenter makes a return to the chart with "Taste", which previously peaked at #7.
Taking the runner-up spot is last week's #1, "2 hands" by Tate McRae. Beyoncé and Post Malone secure third place with "LEVII'S JEANS", followed by RAYE's "Oscar Winning Tears.", which makes an impressive ten-spot leap. Rounding out the top five is Katy Perry's "I WOKE UP", another track with significant upward momentum.
The sole newcomer this week is JADE's promo single "IT girl". It adheres to my chart rule allowing only one non-single from an album at a time, as "Fantasy" has been designated as an official single.
Leaving the chart this week is "Can You Die from a Broken Heart" by Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne after a strong 14-week run. Also departing is the theme song from Reba McEntire's NBC series "Happy's Place", which peaked at #19.
