Sergej's Personal Chart 22.06.2023

Oops, they did it again! In a season where summer songs are chugging to get to the pole position of Sergej's Personal Chart. A collaboration between two acts who have done incredibly well in this chart, got into the top once again.

Yes, Sophie and the Giants & Purple Disco Machine debuted at #1 with "Paradise", it follows in the footsteps of "In The Dark", which not only debuted at #1, lasted 9 weeks at the top and became the Song of the Year for 2022.

Marco Mengoni & Elodie climb back up to their peak at #2 with "Pazza Musica", both songs cause "DISCO PARADISE" by Fedez, Annalisa & Articolo 31 to fall to #3, meanwhile Dua Lipa stays still at #4 with "Dance The Night" for a second week.

Two other debuts hit the top 10: German singer & former Eurovision winner Lena (Lena Meyer-Landrut) debuts at #6 with "What I Want" and italian group Boomdabash teaming up with the italian duo Paola & Chiara with "Lambada" at #7.

The highest climber this week comes from British-Zimbabwean singer-songwriter (currently living in Germany) Kelvin Jones, climbing 80 places to #8 with "BORN TO BREAK YOUR HEART".

Other debuts (outside of the 3 debuts mentioned in the top 10) this week come from: Laura Pausini, Alice Merton, Jain, Leigh-Anne, Tom Grennan, Dave & Central Cee and Depeche Mode.

First look chart on Sunday.

Hey Sergej! :)

Glad to see that we have mutual #1 singles & albums this week.

I'm also liking the debut for 'What I Want' in the Top 10, plus the big gains for 'Karma' & 'Cupid'!

Good chart yet again.

Take care!

Hey Sergej!

Really happy to see Jon Batiste's collaboration track rising!

Many of my favourite songs from your chart are rising this week; Taylor, Ed and FIFTY FIFTY.

Great debuts from Tom Grennan and Leigh-Anne.

Great chart!

Hey Sergej!

Great to see '0800 Heaven,' 'Who The Hell Is Edgar,' and 'Cha Cha Cha' on here.

Nice to see 'Cupid' climbing too, and 'Psychedelic Kisses debuting.

I'm a fan of 'Satelite' too so its great to see it re-entering the chart.

Take care!

Hey there Ozcon!
Glad that you like "0800 Heaven", "Who The Hell Is Edgar" and "Cha Cha Cha" still in my chart, as well as the debut for "Psychedelic Kisses", the return for "Satellite" and the climb for"Cupid".
Thank you for your comment and take care!

Hi Sergej! :D

Welcome "Paradise" to #1. Both Sophie and the Giants and Purple Disco Machine already have a great track record of separate success on Serge's Personal Chart so combined they can only create #1 hits.

Finally Dua could only surpass "Italodisco" but still needs to reach "Pazza Musica" to be crowned. Maybe -as you say- when the movie "Barbie" comes out, a movie I'm not going to see ha ha ha.

Surprising jump from "Born To Break Your Heart", straight to the Top Ten and, I guess, serious contender for "Paradise". I'm glad "Over" is about to crack the Top 20, just like "Karma". Welcome the catchy sound of "Be Who You Are (Real Magic)" to the Top 40. Fingers crossed that "Never Look Back" manages to surpass its #23 peak, it's one of my favorite songs to enter my Top Ten on next week. Same thing about "I Found Her", they are decent songs. For its part, "Cupid" is practically already in the Top 50 just like "Curtains". It's good that "Sure Thing" is back in position and that "City Nights" continues to grow because it sounds very good. I'm surprised Maisie Peters has started to fall.

My favorite Italian song of the week is "Il Primo Passo Sulla Luna". Seeing names like Laura Pausini and Tiziano Ferro on the charts reminds me of the best of the 90s.

My candidate to enter my chart in the next few weeks is "All For Love".

Tom Grennan's new album is very good and has managed to make two songs strong, possibly that will also happen on my chart. Welcome Depeche Mode again. I'm surprised to see the debut of "Sprinter", I know that in the UK, Canada, Australia and Crownnote charts it's very popular. The lyrics are interesting but Dave's rap/grime style still needs to be liked more.

"What I Want" sounds great, great debut at #6. The name "Lambada" reminded me of two great Brazilian music hits from the late 80s with Kaoma. "Charlie Brown" is quite catchy and pretty. Nice to find "Makeba" and "Don't Say Love" also on your chart. Welcome "Satellite" again. I see that "Queen of Kings" has had a big drop, I'm sorry that it didn't make it to my top 100.

There are many songs that have had big drops and may not be there next week. That makes me think that there will be amazing new debuts on your chart, we will have to wait for them. Great chart/playlist! Thanks for the good music. I hope you have a spectacular sunny Sunday and some nice last days of June. A big hug!

Hi there Rockmaker!

Indeed both Sophie and the Giants and Purple Disco Machine have a great track record of success for themselves, but combined they create magic. "Paradise" is another masterpiece from them, while I don't see it on a record of "In The Dark" (9 weeks at #1 last year + my song of the year), it is set to last a while on my chart.

"Dance The Night" could go to #1, when the Barbie movie comes out (a movie which I'm also not going to see lol), maybe even quicker. Some songs that could gain higher next week are "Born To Break Your Heart", "Be Who You Are (Real Magic)", "I Found Her", "Cupid", "Curtains" and "Two Weeks Ago" (will rebound big thanks to her new album).

"Il Primo Passo Sulla Luna" is a wonderful song from Laura, once again she delivers a fantastic piece, can't same for her new album if she'll release it) and I'll be happy to see "All For Love" on your chart, could rebound on my chart if it does.

Will be interested to see if Tom Grennan will have some impact on your chart and if Maisie Peters could get some impact on your chart as well.

Continued impact after this week's debuts can include gains from "What I Want", "Lambada", "Makeba" and "Don't Say Love".

Sad that "Queen Of Kings" won't debut on your chart, but maybe if "Pretty Devil" continues to gain for me, maybe it'll get to your chart?

The songs who have big drops, will probably exit next week and replaced by songs from Maisie Peters and some new songs or songs from Italy.

Hope that you have a wonderful sunny week with a new chart with lots of great music next week!

Thank you for your comment, take care and sending you hugs back!

Hi sergej!

nice to see sophie and purple disco machine make the top with yet another collab! wonder if this one will be as big as in the dark?! its also nice to see dua lipa still top 5, and the debuts for leigh anne and tom grennan as well as that massive climb for karma

nice chart!

Hi Conor!
Glad that you like "Paradise" debut at the top, it doesn't look like "Paradise" will be as big as "In The Dark", but it'll stick around for a while.
Also happy that you like Dua still in my top 5, the climb for "Karma" and the debuts for "Don't Say Love" and Tom Grennan songs.
Thank you for your comment.

Hey There Sergej!

I like that  "Paradise" got to the top, I also like the debuts for "Charlie Brown", "Don't Say Love" and "Sprinter" as well as the gain for "Karma"

Loving the chart as always!
