Waffle's Current Favourites - Week of August 22, 2020

We have a new #1 this week! Rising up 2 spots, we have Ava Max's "Who's Laughing Now". Now there's a surprise. Dua Lipa's "Love Again" holds steady at #2, and then last week's #1 "Kings & Queens" falls back a bit to #3. Finally, "Rain On Me" and "Break My Heart" switch spots as they're now at #4 and #5 respectively. The highest new arrivals are 2 of the catchiest songs I've heard this week, with one of them being released this week: "Tick Tock" by Clean Bandit, Mabel, and 24kGoldn at #12 and "Over Your Head" by Lil Uzi Vert and Future right behind it at #13. We also have Saweetie's "Tap In" at #20, making it her first song to hit my chart. As for what they replace, we finally say goodbye to 2 of the oldest songs and 2 of the longest-running songs on my chart ever, both at 37 total weeks - only "ME!", "ghostin", and "Good as Hell (Remix)" have lasted longer than these: "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd, and "Torn" by Ava Max, the latter of which, despite never even reaching the Top 10, came out and charted exactly one year ago and has had 4 separate runs on my chart. Safe to say it had a very interesting chart run.

Dropouts:

  • The Weeknd - "Blinding Lights" (LW: 20, PK: 3, WKS: 37)
  • Megan Thee Stallion - "Girls in the Hood" (LW: 21, PK: 12, WKS: 6)
