Yeah so uhhh...this week was insane. Which you probably could've expected, because this was the week Ava Max unleashed Diamonds & Dancefloors. As you might expect, there were quite a few new songs from it and a lot of them came in pretty high, causing some absolute chaos on the chart. In terms of our Top 5, this is where we already see some impact. First of all, "Dancing's Done" retakes #1, spending its 2nd total week at the top. "One Of Us" also rises back up a spot to #2, and this one still has the potential to go back to #1 as well. Next we have last week's #1, "Surrender My Heart" by Carly Rae Jepsen down to its lowest point yet of #3. At this point, it's probably not going back to #1 anymore and I think this will be the start of its inevitable decline. And the next 2 songs...well they're both debuts from Ava Max: "Ghost" at #4, and "Get Outta My Heart" at #5.
And you better believe they're not the only Ava debuts this week, because we also have "Diamonds & Dancefloors" at #7, "Hold Up (Wait A Minute)" at #8, "Last Night On Earth" at #11, and "Sleepwalker" at #18, plus "In The Dark" and "Turn Off The Lights" in Bubbling Under - still really good songs, just there wasn't quite enough space for them, haha. But believe it or not, despite all of this, we actually have 1 other debut this week: "Blurry Vision" by Casey Bishop at #15, making this her first entry on the chart. Oh, and there's also a crap ton of dropouts this week as you might expect when there are 7 debuts, including the loss of a few former #1s: "Talking To Yourself" by Carly Rae Jepsen, "u turn me on (but u give me depression)" by LØLØ, "12345" by Em Beihold, and "Crying On The Dance Floor" by Mabel...they're all gone, after finishing some very successful chart runs.
