The Biggest Songs Of The Week

Congratulations to Jorja Smith who obtains her first ever no.1 on my chart with “Try me” rising from last week’s no.8. It was in fact a great week for British rnb and soul artists with Mahalia grabbing her highest peaking single on my chart, climbing up to no.2 with the catchy “terms and conditions”. Meanwhile another British artist climbs up with huge gains with “one step closer” rising up to no.3. The artist in question is Leona Lewis who has not had a big hit for many years and her catchy inspirational track is taken from a new apple tv series “Jane”.

The highest new single entry arrives from a collaboration between The Weeknd & Future with “double fantasy” arriving at no.5. Last weeks number 1 single “Miracle” by Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding slips down all the way to no.8 after having 3 consecutive weeks at the top.

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey remains at the top of the album chart for a 5th consecutive week with “DYKTTATUOB”.

Longest chart runners:

  1. Taylor Swift – Anti-Hero (27 consecutive weeks)

= Raye – Escapism (27 consecutive weeks)

  1. Sza – Nobody Gets me (20 consecutive weeks)
  2. Sza – Kill Bill (19 consecutive weeks)

Next week, look out for new releases from Labrinth, the return of Jess Glynne, The National & Taylor Swift, Miguel, the return of Kesha and a big huge return for Anastacia.

On the album front, look out for a potential chart battle for no.1 from Freya Ridings and Lana Del Rey. Could Freya obtain her 2nd album no.1 on my chart?

Hi Zack!
Nice to see "Try Me" at the top, the big gains for "Flip A Switch" and "Chemical" and the debuts for "Double Fantasy" and "Bet My Dollar".
Great chart!
