Congratulations to Dermot Kennedy who gets a surprise feat of a double number 1. What’s more impressive is that former number 1 “Giants” in its 20th week on the chart, returns to number 1 for its 3rd non consecutive week! If this was not enough, his former number 1 album “Without Fear” returns to number 1 following the release of his complete edition album resulting in further new entries and re-entries from his album on the singles chart.

Birdy  just missed out on the top spot entering at number 2 with “Just Like A River Does”; the final song released from her new EP “Piano sketches”. Miley Cyrus climbs back up the chart again with “Midnight Sky” due to the excellent remix/collaboration with Stevie Nicks (if you don’t recognise the sample from Stevie Nicks’ original song “Edge of Seventeen”, you may recall the backing guitar sound being sampled on “Bootylicious” by Destiny’s Child.

Bubbling under the chart:

Labrinth – Still Don’t Know My Name

Potential new entries next week:

BBC Radio 2’s AllStars – Stop crying your heart out

Billie Eilish – Therefore I am

Anne Marie – Problems

Tones & I – Fly Away

Celeste – A Little Love

Steps – Hold My Heart

New albums:

Paloma Faith – Infinite Things

Hie Zack sorry I had a journey back home long journey. I missed last week charts. Happy to see Giants reclaiming the spot. And that strong debut Birdy she seems to be one of your favorite artist.Dermot has spent a full year in the albums?
I like seeing his new entries too,Blinding lights and Physical are the biggest of 2020 I guess interesting there. Midnight sky still enduring on you its decreasing on me but it had a good run on its initial release. Good to still see same taste of music.

Hi Brandon, no need to apologise buddy. I knew you were travelling and you did mention you may not be on crownnote..., I'm assuming you have settled into Zimbabwe life? Must be exciting and scary at the same time?
Yeah I believe Dermot may be in the top 10 for the whole year (I only started paying attention to this since you started your top 10 albums..I will reveal all in the end of the year). Giants is a great song, battling for number 1 later this week too but there are several challengers. Yeah Birdy was well known in UK several years ago but seems to have gone under the radar again. Her debut album was amazing, you may recall her cover of "skinny love". She also had a big UK hit with "Wings". Yeah, I'm surprised myself that The Weeknd and Dua Lipa are still hanging on in the charts. the last time a song reached 1 year on my chart was Hozier "Take me to church"! "Midnight sky" is gorwing on me more, not surprising as it is also 80s nostalgic but also a great remix released last week with Stevie Nicks who is a legend!

Great to hear that about all those artists especially Birdy I fell in love with Skinny love that time great ballads of all time for me .I'm still adjusting in Zimbabwe and thinking of going to upgrade my school next year 2020 has been a F2020 year hope to achieve greater things next year how is UK going for you
