Chart

Braintree Top 40

Quelle surprise, Kesha stays on top as Daina plays "Raising Hell" 166 times in a single week.  No, that's not a typo.  "Raising Hell" ended up with 263 plays, which is a single-week record.  Tanya gives Harry Styles a new peak as "Lights Up" jumps to #2.  Emily gets BTS their first top ten and Lauv's 5th as "Make It RIght" skips to #10 in its 2nd week.

Josh's brief respite in England is proving to have quite the influence on the chart this week as "Strike a Pose" moves up a spot and "Taste (Make It Shake)" soars to #9.  Manchester-native Aitch's 3rd entry on the chart is "Buss Down," which debuts at #15.  "Who Do You Think You Are" and "Turn Me On" also get the British boost as they debut at #35 and 37, respectively.

Speaking of Brits, Dua Lipa's new single, "Don't Start Now," debuts at #30 after only 4 hours of release, thanks to Josh and Breagh.  Be on the lookout for a potential record-breaking jump into the top of the chart as Breagh becomes her superhero alter ego, Breagh Lipa.

Emm!e added to the British boost as she discovers Aitch.  Celina spun the Tarzan soundtrack all week for some reason, getting Phil Collins on the chart at #40.  Emily is the reason for "10,000 Hours" staying in the top five as well as the two Gryffin tracks and MO.  Mike McCarthy gives Frank Ocean his first chart entry as "DHL" makes a lofty debut at #16.  Tanya has plenty of influence as usual, giving "Writing on the Wall" a new peak as well as giving Selena Gomez's two new songs a nice boost into the top 20.

#FlashbackFriday goes to The 1975 and their only chart topper so far, "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)".  Exactly one year ago, this smooth banger hit the top spot for one week.  The 1975 is gearing up for a new album, so expect one of their singles to threaten the summit in the near future as they attempt to get their 2nd #1.

Next week will be Daina vs. Breagh Lipa as "Raising Hell" and "Don't Start Now" both battle for the top spot.  Can Dua Lipa break her tie with Taylor Swift for Most #1s and earn her 6th or will Kesha continue her reign for a 3rd consecutive week?  We also have some big songs coming out from Ariana Grande, Nicki MInaj & Normani, Sigala & Ella Henderson, and Sigrid.  Exciting!  Find out all the shake-ups next week on the Braintree Top 40!
