Braintree Top 40

It was the battle between Daina & Breagh Lipa this week and while Daina put up a valiant effort, she was no match for Breagh as "Don't Start Now" makes the biggest jump to #1 since "Finesse" jumped 35-1 back in January 2018. This is Dua Lipa's 6th #1, the most of any artist ever. It also continues her streak of all her top tens going #1. Selena Gomez earns her first two top fives as "Lose You to Love Me" jumps to #3 and "Look At Her Now" moves to #5. In the middle of this Selena sandwich is HAIM, which earns their highest peak ever with "Now I'm In It" at #4.

Highest debut goes to "Break Up Bye Bye" by the Frock Destroyers of RuPaul's Drag Race UK at #17, thanks to Mike Maguire. Right behind them is "Bad to You" by Ariana Grande, Normani, and Nicki Minaj, thanks to Tanya. Aside from Dua Lipa, Breagh also spun Divine Sweater and King Princess all week while Celina was feeling pretty emo and got Billie Eilish back on the chart with "when the party's over" at #36. While the British boost wasn't as big this week, it still made an impact as Aitch continued his 3 entry party. Emily got Lennon Stella on the chart with "Kissing Other People" at #22. Mike McCarthy got his boy RIFF RAFF back on the chart at #38 with "TREASURE CHEST" featuring Chief Keef.

Our #FlashbackFriday goes to Dua Lipa, who earned her 5th #1 a year ago with "Kiss and Make Up". This duet with BLACKPINK is currently the only foreign language #1 ever, featuring Korean, and hit the top spot thanks mostly to Daina, not Breagh Lipa. This week seems to be a good luck charm for Dua Lipa, now that she's earned her 6th #1 on the same week.

Next week, we see the release of new Josef Salvat, Young T & Bugsey, Banx & Ranx, and The Chainsmokers. It seems to be a quiet week, which sounds like a good thing after the wild weeks we just had.
