Braintree Top 40

After a back-and-forth week between “The Middle” and “Remind Me to Forget” for the top spot, it came down to the wire with Kygo & Miguel coming out victorious. This marks the 2nd week at #1 for the duo while Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey have to settle for #2. Fueled by Celina’s love, Shawn Mendes sees his highest peak yet with “In My Blood” soaring 13-4. The only other top ten newbie is James Bay, who jumps 17-7, besting his #15 peak he debuted at a few weeks earlier.

The top debut for the week comes from Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line, whose pop-country tune “Meant to Be” arrives at #22, thanks to Celina and Josh. This is Bebe Rexha’s 3rd top 40 hit after “The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody)” and “(Not) The One” and Florida Georgia Line’s first. Shawn Mendes debuts close behind with “Lost in Japan” at #29. After not being after to crack the top 40 for months, Mendes has already got two new chart entries!

Emm!e seems to have changed her workout playlist since “HUMBLE.” has fallen off the chart and been replaced by “Remind Me to Forget”, “All the Stars”, and “Old Thing Back”. Daina had a quiet week as she prepares for Anime Boston this weekend. None of her usual suspects were able to crack the chart. Breagh also had a less-than-stellar week as she only added just two plays to “IDGAF”’s total to boost it 15-5 as well as sneaking “New Rules” back on the chart at #34. It was Emily that proved to be the major catalyst for most of the movement this week. While her closest friends & family showered her with wedding gifts, she showered the Braintree Top 40 with plays and even pushed a few familiar faces back into the chart such as Kesha & Little Mix. Aside from Shawn Mendes and Bebe Rexha, Celina brought her bestie Sigala back to Braintree with “Came Here for Love” returning at #39 after a lengthy stay away.

Next week sees new music from chart favorites Cardi B, Charlie Puth & Lauv as well as Kylie Minogue, Kimbra & Tinashe. Hayley Kiyoko’s latest album, Expectations and The Weeknd’s surprise EP My Dear Melancholy also arrive this week, so we’ll see if they can flood the chart . We’ll also see how Easter will affect things. Will Mike let Emily take over the tunes for their trip to Maine, keeping her play count high? Will Daina find time to rock out while at Anime Boston?
