Braintree Top 40

Ariana Grande continues her dominance as "thank u, next" spends a third week at #1, shutting Halsey out of the top spot.  "Without Me" was previously held off by "Shallow" by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper.  Speaking of, "I'll Never Love Again" hits a new peak of #3 as it threatens to take the crown.  We also see Divine Sweater debut just outside the top ten at #11 with "2x2," thanks to Breagh.  This is the band's first entry on the Braintree Top 40 and the hot shot debut this week.

ANother major debut is Clean Bandit's "Playboy Style" which features Charli XCX & Bhad Bhabie.  Premiering in the middle of the week, this is a song that could challenge for the throne, giving Clean Bandit and Charli XCX their 2nd #1s and Bhad Bhabie her 1st after peaking at #40 with "Gucci Flip Flops," thanks to Jess.  RIta Ora has a good week as "Only Want You" debuts at #25 off the release of her new album, Phoenix.  She also has "Let You Love Me" at #7.  Rina Sawayama finally gets her first entry after just missing with "Ordinary Superstar" multiple times.  "Flicker" debuts at #26.

Funny story: mid-week showed Halsey's "WIthout Me" with a healthy lead over "thank u, next" and was set to become her 1st #1.  That is, until Emm!e, Halsey's biggest fan, decided to play Ariana Grande 8 times, securing her a third week at #1.  Daina continued to keep "Party for One," "Baby," and "Kiss and Make Up" in the top ten this week while Celina stuck with the A Star Is Born soundtrack and the new Jess Glynne album.  Emily also spun the Jess Glynne album as well as the new Rita Ora.  Breagh kept her Shannon and the Clams on the chart while Catie brought her Boys back with "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" re-entering at #24.

Next week is a very busy one as we see new albums from Clean Bandit and The 1975.  We also get a new single from Mark Ronson featuring Miley Cyrus, which has already debuted on the Bubbling Under at #2, as well as a new one from Cheat Codes & Kim Petras.  Another major development is the release of the music video for "thank u, next" which is sure to go viral as it recreates famous scenes from popular teen movies such as Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going On 30,  and Legally Blonde.  It looks like we could have a lot of shakeups next week with many familiar faces vying to be top dog in Braintree.  FInd out what happens next week on the Braintree Top 40!
