Braintree Top 40

Ariana Grande gets her 4th week at #1 as "thank u, next" gets its 2nd wind, thanks to the premiere of its music video as well as help from Emm!e.  Daina comtinues to boost "Kiss and Make Up," "Party For One" and "Baby" in the top five while Catie gives Ellie Goulding a surprise top ten with her 2012 hit, "Lights" which debuts at #7.  This is Ellie Goulding's best peak ever, besting the #10 peak of "Close to Me".  Breagh brings Diviine Sweater to the top ten as "Divine" jumps to #9.  They're actually her roommates, so it's a good thing she's supporting them or that would be an awkward living situation.

"High Hopes" continues to have a rollercoaster chart life as it zooms back up to #13, thanks to Daina.  The 1975 had a great week as their new album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships received critical acclaim from Josh.  Former #1 "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)" stays in the top ten while "Be My Mistake" debuts at #14.  "TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME" re-enters at #28 after peaking at #6 earlier this fall.  We also see "Love It If We Made It" enter the Bubbling Under chart as well.

We see the beginning of the Christmas season as "Santa Tell Me" and "Do They Know It's Christmas?" re-enter at #29 and 30, respectively.  Funnily enough, this is the first time "Santa Tell Me" has been on the chart but not #1 as it spent 2 weeks at #1 last year only to fall off immediately after Christmas.  We also see Orelsan's 2nd chart entry with "Rêves bizarres" featuring Damso debuting at #31.  Orelsan's first entry, "Basique," peaked at #2 last autumn.

As mentioned, Emm!e spun "thank u, next" and "Without Me," but also got Elle King's "Good Thing Gone" to debut at #16.  Daina got "All I Am" and "Youngblood" to re-enter at #26 and 27, respectively.  This will be short-lived however, as she has made the switch to Christmas music as has Emily.  Aside from Ellie Goulding, Catie also kept her Boys on teh chart as "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" jumps back up to #12.  Breagh kept Shannon and the Clams alive and well on the chart with multipke entries.  The highest one is "Onion" at #22.  She was also surprisngly obsessed with "Groove Is in the Heart," which debuts at #32.

Next week looks to be a quiet one as we only have new releases from Bastille, James Arthur, Marshmello, and Astrid S.  Can Ariana Grande hold off the onslaught of holiday cheer or will she replace herself at #1 with "Santa Tell Me"?  FInd out next week on the Braintree Top 40!
