Chart

Braintree Top 40

Welcome back to the Braintree Top 40!  In case you were thinking the chart was getting a bit stale, this week has thrown it for a loop as three brand new songs make up the top 3 with Taylor Swift’s “Gorgeous” leading the charge.  This mark’s Swift’s 2nd #1 in Braintree as she continues to assert her dominance before reputation drops November 10th.

Orelsan’s socially cognizant rap song, “Basique,” debuts at #2 and it’s all thanks to Emm!e and her single play this week.  “Basique” has now become the highest peaking French song to-date, beating the previous peak of #18, set by Yelle’s “Romeo.”

Liam Payne gets his highest charting single to-date with “Bedroom Floor,” which debuts at #3 and blows past his previous best set by “Strip That Down,” which peaked at #16.

Daina helped keep “Havana” in the top 5 at #4, but otherwise had little influence on this week’s chart.  She was this close to getting a Moana track on the chart, but with both Emily and Celina upgrading to Sportify Premium, it just barely missed the cut.

Speaking of Emily and Celina, their influence can be felt up and down the chart this week.  Together, they brought “Look What You Made Me Do” back into the top ten and also provided Post Malone’s “rockstar” with a new peak at #13.  While Celina aided the rise in both “How Long” and “Too Good at Goodbyes,” Emily helped both “Most Girls” by Hailee Steinfeld and "He Like That" by Fifth Harmony debut at #32 and #39 respectively.

Another notable debut is by a Braintree favorite, Selena Gomez.  “Wolves,” which features production by Marshmello, debuts at #31 and gives Selena her 3rd hit this year, following “Bad Liar” at #10 and “Fetish” at #25.

After a snapchat gone viral by Josh involving "Power," the Little Mix song has returned to the Top 40 at #38.  Luckily, it's not the horrid Stormzy version that Celina mistakenly added to her playlist this week.

Next week sees the premiere of the new Clean Bandit song with Julia Michaels, which is sure to make a strong debut, along with the release of Kelly Clarkson’s new album, Meaning of Life, which will certainly excite Emily.  Find out next week to see if Taylor can hold onto that #1 or if Camila can take back the crown now that the dust has settled on the top 3 debuts.
